Baltimore has the money to burn, but we want to be pragmatic.

As it stands, I can say that Baltimore will not be paying that much for The Logo or Shitty. I probably will keep a little cash in case a good deal comes around but we really need another decent pitcher. I'm not sure the ones in FA are worth the asking price though.

Actually what's really kind of funny is how some of these minor league players are seriously lobbying for big time contracts.

Especially when they were terrible in the minors.

So in the development screen does anyone understand the 100-200 ranking we seem to get now?

Is that OUR scouts or OSA?

                    I wish.

We have a little over 40M to spend but unfortunately with the changes in 12, we can no longer see other teams' financial standing. It will definitely be tougher to approximate what the offers will be for a lot of these guys. I expect a few guys to get paid very well because of this change.

I don't see how it's difficult. You can see every team's salary obligations in the HTML. Plus, come on, you know what teams have and don't have. It'll probably take $22.0 per to get one of the big 2 (Logo and DooDoo). About 18 teams COULD pay that price.

I guess your right. I hope people are still factoring in a scouting budget though.

I'm not worried about those two.

Either one would be great to have as our new 1B but I can't see myself spending nearly 50% of my FA $$$ on a 40-year old. I'm sure someone is going to bet that they stay serviceable for 4-5 more years but that is just too long of a contract for me to extend to either guy. I guess I could just be an asshole and at the very least try to keep the price too high for either guy to go Philly.

I'd guess that Shitty and Doorbell end up in Syracuse and Denver. They are like the Final Destination of the BLB.

Two of the best hitters in BLB history. Lefties. Baltimore is hitter friendly. $40+ to spend. If one doesn't end up in B'more its only because someone paid closer to $30 mil.

I can't base their salaries on who they were, gotta go with who are are right now.

Shitty's VORP was a shade under 40. And even if it is Baltimore, Woodbury's VORP will not look as good I because I'm not as aggressive of a manager as Clay plus he'll probably be a terrible defensive 1B.

Anything over 20M will be overpaying IMHO.
