Ho Hum.... no Lonnie Coleman this year. Playoffs start Monday. All Playoff teams must be at 25 men. Remember, if he wasn't on SOMEONE's 40-man on August 31st... he's not eligible.
Doug Gill (and his 27 HRs and an anchor in my thin OF) goes down in Game 162. Is this the part where I'm supposed to jump on Pat's "SIM 26 Rules" bandwagon?
I've never felt this iffy about a Colonial team going into the Playoffs.
Out for 15 months for TJ surgery and then another 9 for a rehab setback and he has a player option for next year worth 3.5M. His last 7M has been easy money.
Prospect Cy Gray got a one week taste of BLB pitching (okay, Pilsner pitching, but still) and did a very good job.
Considering he's a pure genius at Short (and third) and already locked up a AA Glove Wizard this year, it's really tempting to keep him up and have him take over short next season and play alongside Clint Johnston whose arm is more suited for a 2B. That tandem could be one of the best defensively.
Drooling thinking of it. Might be rushing Gray a bit, but OSA says he isn't being rushed, and my scout says he only has a bit left to learn. Might as well learn it against the real competition and go head strong into my 80s philosophy.
Sinclair will likely be our DH next season. Need his power bat and don't want him hurting himself on the field again. Dana Scott seems to handle LF with finesse and he's already locked in for next season.
Oh, it's the playoffs? Yeah, we're thinking of 1997. Thanks.
I know you thought they were just fairy tales like unicorns and honest politicians, but yes, injuries do exist.
It's not injuries (though Gill and Daly hurt)... my starters are really pedestrian right now and my bullpen is god awful. I still have 3 or 4 of the best 5 players in any series I go into... but they're not instilling a ton of confidence right now.

Can anybody remind me how I was back in the 80s? I can't recall. Well, I need to be that guy again.
That's the guy that scoffed at things like .250 averages and said: "Learn to hit!" And threw guys right into the fire.
We're going back to that. Considering we have a few things in common, I'm not surprised you think I'm stealing your philosophy. I want to call it a shared dream state.
Survive and advance. Our bats went cold, we lost a bunch of close games, but somehow we're in. If this goes to 6 and 7, Durham will be back to boost the line-up.
We're going to have to lean heavily on our top 4 pitchers. They've been awesome this season, especially Guzman who's played brilliant the last 2 months. I think RaGo may be the top pitcher in the DL this season.
