I feel like the Stout was a slamdunk this season, but I'm still not sleeping on Carolina catching me for the IL's best record.

I just now saw this. I don't think you have anything to worry about, we're not even going to come close to catching you. I'm just hoping to hold onto our current spot. That's all I wanted at the start of the season and my owner is ecstatic. Just get in, that's all I want.

I was also looking over some splits, since I've mentioned that Ismael Reyes is really only leading the lead in RBI because of the number of opportunities he's had. That's probably true, but I also just now realized how awesome Al Hamilton has been with runners in scoring position this year. 132 at bats, .455/.561/.841 (1.402 OPS). And he's only gotten better in August- 15/28 with RISP, 7 HRs and 26 RBI. Throw in 16/29 with RISP in July as well. He's just killing it right now.

I've surely jinxed it now.

Cripes man, what happened?

Sorry... the last 2+ weeks have been a blur. I can't remember who knows what. Long story short, I was on a week-long business trip in Florida (Pensacola, Jacksonville and Miami). I started having mild chest pains with exertion in Pensacola. By the time I got to Miami I couldn't walk more than 100 feet without falling to the floor in crumpled heap. Like a moron I flew back to Buffalo on Friday (doctor was SUPER pissed about that) and got a $1,300 ride in an ambulance to Erie County Medical Center. After numerous tests and procedures over the course of 10 days, they put in a stent to open up a clogged/collapsed artery.

I've got a boatload of bad cardiovascular genes from my dad's side of the family. A total lack of exercise and a lot of stress didn't help, I'm sure. But I'm walking without pain now; my cholesterol has always been low, and the rest of the plumbing looks good. I'm finally committed to getting back into shape.

2 - 4 and my bullpen is on the fritz. 4 at the Dino's this coming week. This would be a good time to turn things around, boys.

Los Lunas GM update: Got home from the hospital today and I am now the proud owner of a brand new 1.25" stent in my Left Anterior Descending coronary artery. I feel fine until I take my 5 blood pressure and anti-platelet medications. Welcome to 50-ish, boys!
