  • Discussion - 96 Playoffs / 97 Off-Season SIM Speed

Every season there's talk about the SIM speed during the playoffs and off-season. Unfortunately, its usually a done deal by that time.

So let's open it up for talk. I'm not a great judge because I could SIM daily (most days) so I'm not a good facilitator.
    Let's talk it out.

The only thing that I will say is that days off DO need to happen especially in front of impactful SIMs.

It's fine now. I'd rather be able to adjust lineups for game 6/7 than run through a whole series in a sim...even if you can't run it the following day.

Just tbe clear, I'm not talking about the length of the SIMs. Those, to me, work well right now. I'm talking more the frequency.

I figured MWF is fine. Obviously T/Th to finish up series is nice but if it's too fast then MWF will work. At most 6 sims in 2 weeks isn't bad.

Can we have consecutive sims for the periods between Rule V and Jan 1, and then between FA 3 and 4?

I think you keep as is unless participating owners have exported a day sooner.

I know I'm in the extreme minority but in the interest of league participation... The slower the pace the better for me (playoffs). I like to savor my food. I personally wouldn't advocate for speeding up the off-season either.

Agree. I think the more buildup for games 6/7 the better. Especially if we could get some live viewing action...did we ever figure out if this would work?

We should play one game every other day for every series and have full box scores and news stories so we can almost feel like we're there.

Looks like there is a new utility that can show replays of sims...pretty sweet.

Here is a league example...just hit Replay for any of the games...any of the teams.

The LIVE SIM utility may be an option, but I'd need Andrew's consultation. He's back in a busy period of life (about to get busier :) ) but he'll be available again in the early Summer (I think). We can look at it then.

I'm fine with whatever pace the league wants. I'd always lean to side of not changing anything, since it's working.
