Carolina Tobs- 4-2 this week
78-45 overall, 1st in Bock

2-1 at Denver
2-1 at Dallas

We went out west and won a couple of series against DL teams. Our bats cooled down, but some of our pitchers picked up the slack. We're now up 14 in the division, so that's good news. We just need to keep playing well to keep our current spot.

The Good

-Ivan Vazquez has emerged as the best pitcher on my team, and he picked up another win (his 13th) by going 8 innings and only giving up 1 unearned run at Dallas. He's had a couple of bad outings, but his ability to pitch deep into games has been really valuable for us.

-Alex Rivas practically duplicated Vazquez's performance the next night, also going up 8 and only giving up one run. He hasn't been as consistent as I would like, but he's picked it up in August.

-Al Hamilton and Jose Guzman continued to power my lineup. Those two guys have been fantastic lately.

The Bad

-A couple of our bats really struggled. Predictably, Ismael Reyes had a rough week- he's just a roller coaster from game to game. Eron Deleon is still in a rut. We only scored 5 runs in the Dallas series (though we only gave up 5 as well).

Coming Up

We head to Virginia for 3 games, and it looks like we aren't going to avoid any of their top players. That's not going to be any fun. After that, we go up the coast to take on Wilmington. This week ends our roughest stretch of the season in terms of road games, and we'll play a lot of games at home in September.

Unfortunately, and I apologize in advance, it's my Birthday on Monday and I've already got myself penciled in for a 6-0 SIM. Sorry, Guys.

Looks like we might be limping towards the finish line this year. Hanrahan, Reyes and now Madocks are all on the shelf.

I'm hoping we can hang on, Don Morgan will fill in Madocks' spot nicely but it's the rotation/bullpen that is worrying me. If only we could start Glen Jones every game.
