Oh, he sucks. But we suck too.

Really, I signed him for the popularity boost. I don't plan to use him much.

I'm going to end up losing money this year because my fanbase steals cable.

I really tried to be financially responsible. I even still have $3+ MM to pay out free agents. Whatever.

Speaking of financial responsibilities, I have a lot of budget room and could help teams get back into the black for a few draft picks here and there.

Blah. I been offered O'Moore's contract and no one ate the meal (one took a bite and decided it wasn't good enough). I'm done trading with the lot of you.

No, for real. I'm done with trades. Drafting all the way. I can still make the money.

Maybe its an impossible dream...but I feel like the sooner people stop bailing people out of bad contracts, the more likely we are to stop getting ridiculously bad FA deals.

I think we may see a little less of this with OOTP 12's minor league investment option.

Injuries. They suck ass. In the end, all you can really do is hope to have enough depth. Losing Morris for the season is devestating. But I KNEW he was going down, so I made myself deeper. I targeted 1B Antonio Romo (defense, OBP), as insurance, and slowly brought up 1B JR Travis(DH) to see if he would even fit in. Over the course of the last 7 days he has destroyed the ball. Neither are in the same class as Morris but together, maybe we will be able to Frankenstein some of his numbers. The big test will be next week against two of the Ale boys.

Provide me with a compelling argument as to why, in my current situation, I wouldn't bail someone out of a bad contract in exchange for a draft pick or two. Other than, "it's for the good of the league."

Don't have one. Don't need one. Won't try to.

Everyone gets to run their team how they wish within the parameters of the rules.

My statement was based on personal policy and opinion. I want my 23 opponents to have bad contracts of their own doing. Especially if I'm using the FA Pool as any part of my team-building plan.

Its just my vision. Hell, you may say I'm a dreamer...but I'm not the only one. I hope some day you'll join us...and FunClown sucks.

But you don't use the FA pool as any part of your team-building plan. You talk every year about how stupid it is to try to build a team through FA. Using your current reign as an example, you used the draft picks acquired by sucking for a long time. So if I'm not planning on contending for a few years, why wouldn't I take on all the contracts I can and amass as many draft picks as I can. I don't care if I'm unburdening teams of their bad contracts because, hey, I'm not contending now anyway.

That's great. Totally understood. Again, not trying to recruit you. Just sharing my personal philosophy. Sure, it may not seems like its applicable because I haven't had FA money (till this off-season) during the course of my run, but that wasn't always the case.

Heck, as we all know, if people actually DID listen to me around here...I'd actually have some competition.

(NOTE: that was a joke. Please don't take it as anything more. Just having fun.)
