Well, it can work both ways. A guy could pick up a great day or lose a great day depending on which end of the week it is.

            Sorry Pat
We should call this season "The Walking Dead" with all the injuries. I like it though...adds something to the strategy of the game. And to top it off Clay has even kept injuries 'On' when simming his games this year as well.

That's the downside to the AM SIMs... I'm only half awake and miss my edit points on my team. Sorry, Jerry Daly....and 7 single A pitchers.

Millers go 5-1 our only loss coming in the game Pete Fitz pitched his first since returning from a 4 month injury. We opened up a 5 game lead in the division but that does not really make us feel any safer. Looking forward to the interleague play as we welcome the Freedom (Raul Carrillo) and the Kodiaks to Kennywood Park this week.

I've had 5 ML Outfielders go down with multi-week/multi-month injuries this season. Don't know how we've won any games the last 3 sims. Maybe the guys are rallying for their bed-ridden GM?!

We're rolling along right now. Give Ismael Reyes his second straight Player of the Week award.

Davenport should send me a gift basket for the help I've given them against Morgantown.

                          Carolina Tobs- 5-1 this week
                          74-43 overall (1st in Bock)

                          3-0 at Morgantown
                          2-1 vs Washington

Good week. Nothing to complain too loudly about when we went 5-1 against 2 Wildcard contenders. It was our second consecutive 5-1 week as we seem to have gotten over our little rut.

With about a month and a half to play, we've pushed the division lead to 13 games. Still plenty of games to go, including 7 against the Brawlers.

                          The Good

                          -Ismael Reyes
is on fire at the moment. He's a streaky player, at least this year. But right now, he's crushing everything. This sim he hit .520 with 3 HRs and 14 RBI in 6 games.

So far in August (15 games for him) he's hitting .510 with a 1.593 OPS and has 6 HRs and 23 RBI. He's pushed his IL lead in RBI to 13 and passed Castor for the overall lead there. He's due to go cold, but he's been a monster the past couple weeks. Two consecutive IL Player of the Week awards.

-Jose Guzman and Al Hamilton each launched a couple HRs and put up OPS over 1.000 this sim. With these guys hitting like this, we're scoring a lot of runs.

-Loren Washington and Ivan Vazquez both had really good starts. It's especially good to see Washington pitching better after a rough July. Vazquez has been everything I could have hoped for this year.

                          The Bad

-Doug Ellis isn't getting much work for us, but he's not helping any either. He needs to pick it up.

-Eron Deleon has cooled off a bit. He's only hitting .240 this month, the worst of the season for him. The power isn't there like it was for the first couple months.

                          On The Farm

-A-level Kinston won their division for only the second time in our history. AA Charleston also won a division title for the fifth straight year. AAA Winston-Salem looks like they are headed for the playoffs with only a few games left.

Jerry Brown had another good week and appears to be adjusting to AA nicely. I've been waiting for this, so now I just hope nothing goes horribly wrong.

                          Up Next

-We head out for our longest road trip on the season. Our next 12 are all away from home starting against the two best Pilsner teams- Denver followed by a hot Dallas team. Our road record (36-19) is a little better than what we've done at home so far, so hopefully we don't fall apart here.

Another 3-3 week. I'm hoping the boys start warming up again. Even the starting pitchers are looking pretty bad right now. But hold onto your hats, Curt Warren won a game! It was one of the ugliest wins I've seen. How this kid will win games walking a full lineup every outing is a serious concern.

                            One special note -

SS Dusty Simmons - He has yet to go on a hot streak but he is really starting to follow through with his swing lately. With 5 HR's in the last 3 sims and a BA that is creeping up to respectable, he is becoming exactly what L.A. needed. New Brew or not, the kid is going to be a terror in a few years.

Tucker is done for the year. Len Jenkins ran out of magic. Tyrone Abbott is out a month. My starting rotation is a set of musical chairs.... but still just five games out.

                              I think I have a chance.

6-0 SIM for us (10 in a row)

Had to show Baltimore that feasting on average teams at home still doesn't make them a contender. You're welcome.

The old man is playing for a contract still. I'm not caving... but Woodbury is 1.343 OPS in August. BenGay be damned!

Meanwhile.... still... just sayin'.... Jerry Morgan stalking the Pale Ale race.
