TEAM...somehow the Bats are .500 despite numerous injuries and very poor Starting Pitching.

DIVISION...the Stout is locked up by Virginia and I fully expect Morgantown to pass me in the 2nd half.

PLAN...pray that the return of Derrek Tucker and Len Jenkins is enough to push this team to another Wild Card.

42-40, we tanked in May but have picked it up during June to have a very small lead in the Wildcard.

Aside from the back of the rotation, I've been very happy with the front 3 and the bullpen. Both Jones and Hanrahan are dealing lately which could present a problem as they will both be free agents at the end of the season. Hanrahan is an ageless wonder and I'm curious to see if he will hang the cleats up on a high note.

On offense we are doing a decent job of getting on base but we need somebody to drive in runs. Hudson has had a slow start after returning from an injury but it does look like he is turning it around. I would love to add another big bat but it doesn't look like anything is on the market. Even if there was something out there I don't think we would be able to afford it.

In terms of the Bock, Carolina has it on lockdown but I keep hoping the team's inexperience will collapse late in the season. I think Los Alamos is better than their record and wouldn't be surprised if they surpassed us in the wildcard chase down the stretch.

This July will be interesting and I wouldn't be afraid to sell Hanrahan and Jones if we fall out of reach of the wildcard.

3rd place, 4 games out of first. Gotta say I'm surprised with where I'm at right now. The division is still wide open right now. With a frontline starter I think I have a chance to get hot... why did McEvoy have to retire?!

Anyway, it will be an interesting second half. Gene Dixon and Joe Rojas will have to continue to shoulder the load for this team.

How do I resign Munoz who is out until sometime in October? Seems silly to sign him now before I see how he is after his recovery.

              Risk-vs-reward.

Gotta make that choice. You could wait till the resigning period in the off-season (immediately following the end of the season and prior to that player becoming a free agent).

However, you won't get that massive rescout until January 1st, so you gotta just make a decision.
