Changes to Fielding Ratings

Question for the more experienced OOTP players.

I've had two players drastically change in ratings at certain positions in the last few weeks. So much so that one of them is no longer rated at all at any position. The other, who was rated pretty well at 3 positions, is now only rated at 1 spot any it's down to 2.

The thing they have in common is that they are both over 35 years old (shocking on my team, right?)... is this a glitch or an intentional thing in the game that basically says these guys are reaching the DH portion of their careers?

Do you have a new scout? I know in solo leagues different scouts rate guys differently in fielding ability and some dont even give guys the same ability to actually field a position.

The other thing may be that as guys grow older they lose the ablility to play more demanding positions. Not sure about that though.
