What I mean is, what's the precedent for a sure fire all star who gets injured right before the team is picked?

I know fans vote in the MLB, and I know the voting period starts earlier, but I couldn't honestly tell you much about the voting habits of the fans. Outside of Yao Ming, do any injured guys make the team? Has any sure fire all star gotten injured right before the manager picks?

Just wondering.

I'm almost positive injured players have made the team having been injured for a majority of the season, but it happens more in basketball.

Baseball fans are actually pretty smart voters. Not perfect, but smarter.
