I'm pretty sure we weren't supposed to be signing free agents, but I have a news items that Washington signed Florention Corulla. Not trying to call anyone out, just wondering what the deal is.

j/k
I think what happend is that diesel offered the extension before FA's filed, but the player didn't decide to sign until after he technically filed for FA. I view this as a re-signing since there's nothing I can do to prevent it.

Here is what happened:
Corulla was released by Los Lunas the final week of the season, on October 5th. I saw this and immediately offered him a contract. The first playoff sim went by, he didn't sign. The second playoff sim went by, he didn't sign. He kept saying, "I like your offer, but I am going to wait and here from other teams." He finally decided to sign with Washington on November 15th, over a month later.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

The way I see it, since he didn't sign during that last week of the season, he should remain a free agent.
It looks like there's a bug with the game that if a player has a offer on the table when the season ends, it prevents them from filing for free agency.
Or something like that...

Actually, on the last file we had, he still was unsigned and I chose to "withdraw offer" because I didn't want it to seem like I was signing FAs when we weren't supposed to. But, that league file was never imported, so he signed.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

I agree with Sully that it seems like a bug. I think the fairest thing to do is release him and put him back in the FA pool.
Sorry diesel, I don't remember talking about this or maybe I just didn't understand what happened at the time. Needless to say, I've been a little distracted over the last 2 weeks.

He definitely won't be a Bat next year though....I'm sure he will "refuse to negotiate" with the Bats.

I can understand why the Wildcat fans would be pissed. The two players you let walk are arguably the two biggest FAs. I guess they don't understand that Wilmington is small market.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
