What an annoying sim. I don't think we got anyone out.

4-3 sim... Was Harfords only win and Maine's only loss with a 2 game sweep of Pawtuckett mixed in. Stayed the course at 2 GB and one up in the WC as Maine and Hartford just switched places.

4-3, but most importantly, 1-2 against f'ing Denver.

And welcome back to the offense with a .903 OPS for the week.

Well, with two pitchers in the top 5, I bet Morgantown is really good then.

5 - 2 against division opponents, including a 3-game sweep of The Storm. Didn't see that coming; especially after the injuries struck last week. Managed to limit the injuries to bench warmers this week. Couldn't be happier with the results thus far. I wish I could enjoy it! I'm waiting for "water to find its level" and wash away my entire club.

Well, competitive balance is certainly the issue... after all Virginia bought all of those players with his huge budget.... oh wait.... he was awful for a decade and drafted 4 of the 5 in the 1st Round. As did Morgantown.... Hartford.... and Los Alamos (Dimmick)....

Hmmmmm... 1st Rounders in their prime are good. We should fix that.

                    Carolina Tobs- 4-3 this sim
                    37-21 overall, 1st in Bock

                    2-0 vs Windy City
                    1-1 vs Davenport
                    1-2 at Los Alamos

Honestly, I was hoping for more this sim, but I guess that might be getting greedy. It's still a winning week- we haven't had a losing one yet- and it extended our division lead to 10 games. All I was hoping for at the start of the season was to make the playoffs, and we're off to a solid start. It's too early to count on anything yet though.

                    The Good

-Eron "Pistol" Deleon has been a consistent force all season. It was another good week for our 25 year old catcher- .409, a HR, 5 RBI, 1.186 OPS. He's been a mainstay on the "Who's Hot" list this year for us. If he isn't the best hitter on our team, he's really close. And to think some people here wanted to call him a bust.

It's a pretty good year for IL catchers, but he has to have the inside track on an All-Star nod at this point.

-Jose Guzman finally showed up. Good to have you back, Jose. We were beginning to wonder if the old man had finally lost it, but he came up with a huge week.

-As a team, our plate discipline has been fantastic. We have the fewest strikeouts (269) in the IL and the third most walks (283). As far as I can tell, only 1 team in our league history- the 1991 Colonials- has had more walks than strikeouts, so it seems unlikely that we'll keep this up.

-Val Aparicio has gotten his season on track it appears. He was awful to start this season- so much so that I considered sending him back down to AAA. In April he walked almost a batter per inning. He's found his control a little better- still 13 in 34.2 IP. I had high hopes for Aparicio coming into this season, we'll see if he finds a groove now.

                    The Bad

-The rest of the pitching staff.
Pretty much all the pitchers, outside of Aparicio, were terrible. Just garbage. I've said that we aren't the best pitching team in the league despite leading the IL in runs allowed, and it all came crashing down this week. They all got rocked.

I'm not sure how to think of this. We gave up 44 runs in 7 games, and still finished the week with a winning record. That's good. We also scored a ton of runs and still lost 3 games, that's the bad.

Our bullpen was rock solid for the first month and a half, but it has gone backwards lately. No lead was safe for us this week. That has to get better.

                    On the Farm

-It's been a good year for the minor league affiliates. Our prospects have been making good progress and a steady supply of ringers has all of our teams at least 10 games over .500.

In Kinston, the perennially awful Indians are 36-21. C Roberto Goto (featured in the One Man's Trash thread) was named Player of the Week, going 11/20 with a HR. OF Jimmy Bond, one of our 2nd round picks last season, is also off to a very good start and looks ready for AA. He's our most recent prospect to join the Top 100 list. I'll point it out now since he's going to drop off this coming sim when the draft occurs.

SP Jonathon Burns was named a AA All-Star. He's striking out 12.97 batters per 9 innings, easily leading the league.

In Winston-Salem, Ty Booth and Joey Bridges were recently called up and have done well at their new level. Both could find their way onto the BLB club by season's end, particularly if the suddenly leaky bullpen can't fix itself.

                    Coming Up

The mighty Pilsner comes to town in the form of Syracuse and Indianapolis. From the looks of it, the Slammers have some injury concerns on the infield, but still have a good lineup. The Clowns have hit a bit of a rough patch lately, but figure to pull out of it soon.

Adrian Romero is back in our lineup this week. I'm happy to have him off the DL after being out for 6 weeks. We definitely need him in the lineup.

It means that Joe Reyes is likely headed to the bench or to AAA, or Sekien Meshizuka might be on the way out. I'm not sure yet.

3-4 sim, it was nice for Adili to finally show up: he hit .350 and 3HRs this week. After a great season last year he has really be struggling so far. If we hadn't been playing Virginia we might have had another winning week.

Quick question... I accidently executed a claim on the wrong player on the waiver wire. I did not export and closed the game. When I reopened the game though the claim wa still there... anyway to de-claim the player?

Manually download the league file again. It will return you back to the stage you were in right after Clay finished the last SIM.

                          OR

if you have exported since the last SIM (after making changes), but have not exported since making the wrong claim, you can reimport your last export via the 'Import Team from FTP' choice under Import/Export. The file should come back to you minus any changes you have made after your last current export. Make sense?

The safest thing is honestly to re download (manually) the latest league file and overwrite everything in your saved games folder, but if you've made a lot of other changes that you don't feel like recreating the import of your last export should hopefully work (not sure I've ever tested it on a waiver claim, but for instance if you make a contract offer and then regret it you can "undo" that with the import process).

The import did not work... the claim was still there. So i redownloaded the league file and its gone. Thanks brad.
