We've had a couple guys debut this year, for better or worse:

    SP Willie Castro

Castro was the 6th pick in the 1993 draft and, due to being fairly developed, started his career in AA. On AAA Opening Day in 94, he suffered a "CEI" and missed 15 months. Upon returning, OSA and my scout still had him as a decent pitcher and the minor league system report even went as far as to call him "Possibly ready for the majors" this past summer... but obviously he isn't. 1-8 with an 8.42 ERA.

    SP Ivan Martinez

Martinez is hopefully the beginning of the future for our pitching staff, as the first of five top 100 prospects to make the show. A September callup, Martinez bounces on and off the top prospects list thanks to a '3' stamina that must be right on the cusp of being a projected bullpen arm or starter. Right now the BLB universe sees him as a starter, and he's shown some solid glimpses. His 4 starts have included a 6 inning, 2 ER and 7 K debut win against a very intimidating Indy lineup and his most recent 5.2 IP, 0 ER and 7K no decision against New Orleans.

He also got shelled by Denver, but in Syracuse we're all about positive reinforcement so we don't bring that up around him.

    2B Antonio Torres
Torres has been a organizational favorite since being drafted in 94, and has been coming along nicely. Pushed into BLB action due to injuries at the top level, Torres responded with a pedestrian .621 OPS in nearly 100 AB's, but also stunk in the field at SS. I do think he can be a regular in the BLB, though. See you in ST, Antonio.
    Charlotte Knights - OSFL
    Syracuse Slammers - BLB
South America - 1984 WBC Runner Up

I might have asked but ,do September call ups affect players. If they do , they should not.

Yeah, any moves you make with your players impacts their development in some way, good or bad.
