Woodbury is 2 HRs shy of 500 with Philly coming to town in the 2nd half of next week. I think it's only right.

Despite falling 2 games back, Playoff Odds have Denver the favorite to win the Pilsner because we're playing 4 games worse than our Pythagorean Record.

It doesn't help when you have an ERA under 3 for the week but only hit .250 as a team. That equals a 1-5 week. Guys can't seem to get it together on both sides of the field.

I guess you're mentally blocking his time in VA out?

Totally forgot he was ever gone.

Congrats to Clay and Ryan, as well.

Hell yeah, this has been the highlight of our season!

Seriously, we're really bad this year. I knew we would be, but not this bad. Making some changes this sim, although it really doesn't matter. You can't shine a turd. Unless that turds name is Gremades.

                      Pawtucket 4-2............Yippie.

McDonald & Yoshino came to play this season. My #1, #2 starters can't be this bad. Can they?

Oh well, like 94 we will take this one step at a time.

Carolina Tobs- 4-2 this week, 23-15 overall, 1st in Bock

                        2-1 vs Batavia
                        2-1 vs Virginia

                        A solid week against 2 good teams. I wasn't expecting a winning week, so I won't complain.

                        The Good

-Any series win against these two teams is good. Over the past few seasons they've probably been the two best teams in the IL. Virginia is a juggernaut, but we've managed to not embarrass ourselves against them. 3-3 on the season now, and somehow we've outscored them 34-23 in those six games. We're 4-2 against the Muckdogs.

-My pitching staff continues to play well. Good performances this week from starters Vazquez, Howe, Aparicio, Mendez and Rivas. Only Loren Washington got roughed up by Batavia. In the bullpen, Raul Frayo still hasn't given up an earned run, Raul Reyes has been good in the 9th. Soto, Valentin and McQueen have also helped in the middle innings. As a group, we're first in bullpen ERA with a 1.93.

Improbably, my team is currently 1st in the IL in runs allowed. I'm not sure we're that good, but the pitching staff is off to a good start.

-Eron Deleon continues to carry my offense. Another good week from him, hitting .350 with a HR and 8 RBI. He could be headed to his first All-Star game at this pace. Pat Faulkner is also off to a nice start. They are picking up the slack left by guys like Hamilton and Guzman, who aren't even close to matching last year's production.

                        The Bad

-As mentioned, neither Jose Guzman or Al Hamilton are off to very good starts. I was expecting big things out of both of them, but so far I'm not getting in. Guzman is really struggling, while Hamilton doesn't look like the same guy I had last year.

-Loren Washington had a rough outing against Batavia and got his second straight loss. I'm sure that makes several people happy.

                        Up Next

-A struggling Wilmington team comes to town for a three game series before we hit the road to play a suddenly hot Bulldogs team.

Took 2 out of 3 in both series but lost CL Milton for two weeks. Garcia will make his return next sim...we will see how long he will last before going down again.

We split. But surprisingly we played Maine pretty tough, with 2 of 3 going to extra innings. Hartford is up next. Be gentle, please?!

                              3-3...

Started out great against Wilmington but then we ran into those red hot Bulldogs. I was happy with our newest acquisition on the mound as Don Richmond went 7 innings strong against his old team only giving up two runs and allowing five hits. Didn't get a good look on Don Morgan yet, if Madocks continues to struggle then maybe we'll put Morgan in CF temporarily.

Hopefully we can get it together against Philly and Morgantown or else we might have to begin selling.
