Does changing the named position of fielders have any impact on the players attitude? I like to change the named position so I can see where my depth is.

Yes, it can impact a guy's attitude (IME) if it puts him behind a more talented starter on your organizational depth chart.
However... I wouldn't rule out the "Oh SHIT I play for Wilmington/Los Angelhynudai!" factor.The Great One!
