The last two sims we have been destroyed by every team in the stout. I expect to get busted by Virginia, but not the Bats and Wilmington. I though we could at least win a couple games...I guess not.

I love old guys like that who, despite ratings hits as they age, are able to go out there and get by on "experience" and "guile".

#6 on the Top Pitchers list despite having stuff that is barely #5 worthy. Good stuff.

I'm weary of his ability to pitch in the DL, however.

But, having said that, I'm a huge supporter of stats over ratings. We've all been bit by the guy that has amazing ratings but somehow doesn't see those translate into performance.

            Stats don't lie. Ratings can.

Pretty good week for us, 5-2. After losing both to surprising (to me) Los Alamos, we hit the road and got 5 wins in a row in pretty decisive fashion.

So far, Manny Mendez appears to still have the ability to start and Loren Washington has been a great pickup from free agency. We'll see if they keep it up, but I'm happy with them so far.

On offense, this Deleon kid appears to be coming around. Perhaps he's not a bust after all.

Should have traded Deleon when you had the chance. After all you have been calling him a bust for the past two seasons.

Loren Washington: Freddie Thompson, 1996 edition.

If someone has a 6+ ERA for my team and he becomes a FA, by all means, pay him whatever he wants because he is a virtual lock to become awesome for someone else.

Won't last, at least not at this level. His BABIP is way lower than his career average. When that corrects itself, his ERA will rise as well.

Not convinced. Not going so far as Linty's stat revelation, but the DL to IL shift is where I stand.

I've always tried telling IL owners that they can make my 4 run ERA pitcher a 3 run ERA pitcher. I've seen it happen far too often. In hindsight, I should have followed my own advice when I acquired O'Moore.

                          Mistakes happen. Not again.

Freddie Thompson stayed in the DL and his ERA went from 8.36 to 2.71.

Washington obviously switched leagues (Derrrr, really? The IL is easier to pitch in? Is that because of that DH thingamjiggie? Derr, thanks guys!) but his ERA has dropped from 6.44 to 1.21. My comment was obviously tongue-in-cheek because Washington has only started 4 games this season, but we're not dealing with a guy shaving a run off his ERA due to switching leagues. Washington and Thompson flat out couldn't pitch for my team, and now they can pitch for other teams.

I think he's a decent pitcher. Of course I don't expect him to win every start this season and keep a 1.21 ERA, though I wouldn't complain if he did. My scout likes him as a "strong number 3." He shouldn't walk many people or give up a ton of home runs, though his stuff is a little below average.

He was a guy that I really wanted in free agency, even if I had to pay a little more than I wanted to get him.

In other news, I've been really happy with Raul Frayo's move back to the bullpen for me. 14.2 IP, 14 K, 1 BB, 5 hits allowed, 0 runs.

I'm not saying the guy is better cause he changed leagues (think that has minimal impact). I'm saying the teams he's playing (which happen to be in the IL) are "turrrrrible".
