I get it. Maybe the DL doesn't care about VA dominating just like the IL didn't care that Maine was dominant.
No, I know you were being sarcastic. I'm just saying that it didn't affect his last season.

Which is why I bring it up. He has weakened his team over the years by trading away players. I haven't done the research to find out who is replacing those missing pieces, but someone is, no?

I spend a fair amount of time going over my roster and free-agent lists. The more I look at players the more I get a headache. Baseball is a sport unlike others. Talent is very hard to judge. This is a computer game and if you can figure out what makes it tick you can be very successful. In the OSFL Ben Lou knew just what ratings made players tick. My .02 worth is the league should open the rating system up to 2-20 from it's current 2-8. This would allow owners with less time invested (be it experience or real world constraints) to evaluate talent better. For example , anyone that is not an obvious superstar my scout hates. Then maybe the unwritten, don't trade with the new guy stuff would disapear.
That's actually an interesting thought- keeping everything the same but opening scouting up to maybe more like 2-10 or 2-12.

I'm sure there are some who like the idea. I do not. The 2-8 scale puts more emphasis on stats. If anything, it would be better to go to no ratings and stats only.

THAT would level the playing field.

I don't say this to insult you or suggest you are dumb, but I'm not in favor of a system that dumbs down the game for us.

The more information we give, the less strategy is involved.

All the way up to #26 this week. I don't recall him even being ranked last week.
Yes, he was #26 last sim as well. I just checked. He hasn't spent much time on the list though.

As for my team, ehh. 4-3. Lost Romero for 6 weeks, so hopefully it's not the start of some bad luck. Either way, we're just ok.

Nice 5-2 sim for me. My starting pitching, aside from Norm Sutton, has been really bad (as expected).

Well, I apologize to all then. Perhaps I overreacted (that's not the Clay I know) to some feedback I was getting privately and trying to get out ahead of things. I know the cheating accusations are mostly tongue-in-cheek, but I'm so hyper-sensitive now that I feel guilty when things go well.

That being said... I'd still like to make some moves. Despite Jistic's assertion that Woodbury is getting better, he probably has enter DH mode. His range is getting a little short.

There is also the injury issue. Every team in the league has injuries to deal with year in and year out except VA. It doesn't matter how you strategize in this game over the course of 3-4 years EVERY team is gonna get hit with some big injuries.
I have to agree with a lot of what Jistic is saying.

Especially, the stars staying stars. Woodbury is still #1 at 39. I remember before he got to Virginia, he was injury prone. When I compare his longevity to all of my "stars" over the years...

Michio Nago was an All-Star, DWI, very high work ethic/int, signing him to a deal into his
mid 30s seemed safe. Now at 32, he is a shell of himself, and all of a sudden can't stay on the field.

Mike Murdock has been top 20 for years. Now at just 32, it looks lije he is hitting a wall.

Miguel Angel Padilla was one of the best power hitters in BLB history, and he flamed out at 25.

Robert Abbott former top 20 player, leadoff hit machine, looks like he hit the wall at 31.

Martin Carlton was coming off one of his best seasons, to retire at 35 years old.

Joe Sierra, top 20, borderline HOF votes, flamed out by 34, and hit the wall at 30.
