Denver selects CL Zack Hodges.
I was convinced I'd take a hitter in this spot but Hodges kept popping up in my dreams. Something about OSA's feelings on him and my scout's.
His stuff won't be impressive, but I do like that both OSA and Rogacion (a former pitcher mind you) see his movement and control in the 6 or above area. Assuming both over-project, he shouldn't crash to far below that number. I'd be happy if he's a 4-5-5 when it's all said and done. And likely a high 5 for both.
Low stamina makes him a set-up guy though his pitch ratings do scare me a bit. What eventually convinced me is his ability to hold runners and his GB%. If he's coming in to kill a rally in the 8th and he's not gonna strike you out, well with his (at the very least) good control and movement, he'll get an inning-ending double play.
I liked that.
I expect him to reach the BLB in about three seasons.
