I was surprised he was still around. Figured that meant my scout was either high or stupid. Or both. He's on point with OSA on this one though, so we'll see.

          • My 2nd round pick was OF Alex Pereda out of Kansas City, Missouri. He's a raw talent with tremendous power potential. My scout think he's got as good potential to hit the long ball as anybody in the league but he can't walk worth a damn. He's got decent contact potential and my scout thinks he could hit .290 (with a .310-.320 OBP!) but hit 30+ HR.

That's fine for my squad as we typically lead the league in walks already so one free swinger won't hurt too much. He'll give me another nice OF bat to develop but it will probably take a few years for him to be close to big league ready.

I had my eye on him and I was curious when he would go. He's incredibly raw and will take patience to develop. Mad power potential.

I was hoping to snag him as well. 3 picks too late...

                  • We can't trade SW round picks can we?

Haven't looked at the draft one bit and my interest factor is zilch.

No, the picks themselves aren't tradeable.

                        • I like the Tammany, Gonzalez, Allende and Zambrano picks. Especially Zambrano, as this draft is incredibly light on players with any kind of eye or OBP capability.

I think this is a very weak draft for hitters, period.

Just FYI - If the implication here is that you can pre-plan a trade and "draft a guy for someone else" only to trade them. That would be a complete smack in the face to the rule of not trading sandwich picks.

Got it. Not sure why, but I always assumed the sandwich picks weren't tradeable because of a limitation of the game itself.
