    • Took a luxury pick here.

Jamie Hoffman (2B) out of HS.

Don't love his makeup and his injury history is a little spotty. But great intangibles. He'll be Top 75 from jumpstreet. I expect to see him as a piece in a future trade.

Fairly undeveloped, so he'll do well in the new rookie league. Oh wait.

Need for a Rookie League is overrated. Hasn't hurt TJ "Don't Call Me Cutini" Knudson. I think our A ball works like it should.

Update: I was not right. Hoffman was on my short list though. He and Morrow are the only middle infielders worth a damn in the draft this year.

Hoffman was the guy I was going to pick if Wessel wasn't there, but my scout liked Wessel moreso. Interested to see how Hoffman turns out.

Give me your 1st next year and 2.6 this year and I'll give you the rights to Hoffman AND my 2.24 this year. Can't have too many MIFs.

                    Give me a second.

                    • My apologies. I could have sworn I clicked it over to draft from list.

Pick's in now. I went with high school SP Tom Vaccarella. Great control, solid movement. He simply doesn't walk anyone. If it goes well, he'll throw a little harder as he gets older.

                      • Since Vaccarella fell to Carolina the pick before us, we went with OF Robby Culler, an 18 year old HS pick.

Have him as an average contact hitter, with average power, slightly below average eye but solid extra base power. Covers decent ground in the OF.

Check out Culler's pitching ratings. I was hoping he'd fall to my pick in this round.

I also really like the Gomez pick. He was the second best player in the draft, in terms of raw potential, according to my scout.

                              • I'm somewhat surprised that Gomez was still on the board, I nearly picked him. I actually thought about it when I was up at #14. Awesome reliever potential. Just dominant ratings. I just didn't want to pick a reliever.

As it is, I kind of wish I had just taken Oshman at 14, but if Baltimore tanks I'll be happy when the next draft gets here.
