  • Went with the younger of the Mejia brothers Edgar. Prefer a college player but can't pass up what my scout thinks is the last potential ace in this draft. Little light on stamina but I can live with that considering the rest of his numbers.

Good pick. I hate HS pitchers but I probably would have taken him over the other Mejia.

To be fair I didn't call anyone an asshole. I alluded to the fact that some of you might consider branching out from the BLB a bit, but never assholes...

        • I like this Mejia, though he's not the sure thing the other one is. This one will rate higher on the prospect list.

Almost took him at 5 instead of Aten. #1 guy on my board, but, I've been burnt by his type before, and he's not even projected as a starter in A ball right now.

            But, great pick.

            • FYI.

After Philly I won't be getting my pick in prior to 8pm. I'll do what I can but I have a meeting until then and that would be bedtime for the kids at Che-Spot as well. Go and watch a movie or something y'all.

              • Wilmington is pleased to get Enrique Ferreira CF. We are looking for him to work his way up to play leadoff for us. On he other hand most of the players in my queue were chosen so maybe I am starting to get the hang of it.

                  • Robles, on potential, was my #1 hitter in the draft. I probably would have taken Bornstein over him due to being a safer bet, but Robles could be really good. Best contact/power combo here, good enough eye and avoid k's.

I hate all of you people. Won't someone please pick someone I don't like?

4 first round picks. I can afford to get a little adventurous.

                        • Robles was the other player I went back and forth with when we picked Jones.

                            • Also, just wanted to make my annual "WTF are we doing with the draft clock" post. The last pick was made before 8, but now the next one isn't due for another 15 hours since it shuts off at 10.

Don't know why it's not on from 8 am -> Midnight.

                              This concludes this semi-annual message.

Agreed. I think there is a lot of depth when it comes to the pitchers in this draft, still have a bunch on my big board that I figured would be gone by now. I'm not about to put my money where my mouth is so don't expect an offer Brad!
