Championship Banners are flying at half-staff today with the passing of Colonials' Owner David Miranda. Miranda now has the right the remain silent.... forever.

Well it's 1993 all over again for us as we sign 2B Victor Fernandez and CF Adam Nickell to one year deals.

I don't know why I ever delude myself into thinking I might be able to get a decent deal in free agency. But, every season I get excited about the possibility only to realize that there's no such thing as a good deal in free agency.

So.... Syracuse just signed $80.0 worth of Catchers.... Hmmmm... it's almost like giving a monkey a credit card.

Aww, c'mon Clay, you're smarter than that. Hector's contract is realistically 2 years/30 million. He was asking for 4 years, 68. I'd say that's a decent contract, especially when you have $51 million dollars to offer in FA.

We did up our offer to Guinane thinking that we would be outbid for Hector, but with the thought that if we somehow did get both, Guinane will probably play first and Rex can DH.

On top of that, I'm still 30 million dollars under the cap. Pretty sure I'm not being too ridiculous here.

I'm just busting balls. However, Matt may have a take on your option year. Its a pretty steep jump to the option year.

Fair enough and when I offered it, I questioned myself for a second, but I've seen worse. My reference was a Gugs contract I inherited - I want to say his yearly was around $8M, option $13ish.

Also, if I would have been able to re do my offer, I was planning on offering 17 with a 20 option.

Wait....when did Hyundai become Los Angeles?

Am I like totally out of the loop here? Was this discussed or talked about somewhere?

Just a city name change. Apparently Hyundai was located in L.A.

I believe that $8 was a "bought down" year from a trade. Its all good. Nothing illegal. Just a statement on your integrity. ;)

Yeah, Hyundai was always in Los Angeles. The sponsorship $ just dried up.
