I don't think theres anything that predetermines whether a player is a bust.

I try not to think of it as a player's ratings changing, more that my scouts realized he wasn't what they originally thought. I think the timing (All of them happening at the same time) coincides with the end of the minor league seasons.

Good God, my team has been bitten hard by the injury bug down the stretch. Pedro Zamarida is out 1-2 weeks right when I was about to get Frank Hamlet back. I just hope Zamarida will be available if I make the playoffs. IF I make the playoffs.

Andrew, what's the actual in-game start date of the playoffs?

Also...would it be possible for me to make lineup changes by proxy? I'm heading out of town early tomorrow morning, so I may not be available to adjust my lineup pre-Sunday's sim.

I think there's 1 off day so the playoffs would start on Tuesday the 6th.
Yes, you can PM me any changes you want to make.

I agree with Andrew about the ratings changes. Also, I don't think any player is labeled as a bust. But, rather, there are formulas used to determine which percentage of players in a league will be bad, good, etc. But, I think that the formula is constantly adapting to the league. A lot of factors come in, including your coaches, the player's performance, etc. So, from my understanding, a player's ratings are never fluid. They can go up and down, all the way up and all the way down. Part of that formula in this new version of the game is the fact that more "top prospects" will become busts, much like in real life. Also, the fact that we have scouts on greatly influences the amount of ratings changes. Hope I didn't explain myself into a circle.

I like it. A few of my lower round picks have gone from 20 potential to 70+. Couple of my top 3 picks have gone down the crapper... so it works both ways. ultimately, the overall and potential ratings are misleading. Gotta look at performance.

Exactly. See: Ed Colville. The guy performed like a champ for years in the minors, and FINALLY his ratings reflected it, but it took a while.

I love that it happens... I hate that it happens to me... but I love that it happens...

I have a feeling I'm going to be the Cubs of the BLB.

Well, we can't all load our farm systems with 30+ year old BLB rejects to try to win useless Minor League titles.
