So, is it asking too much that if you have a player at A Ball on your 40 man roster who was drafted in the first year player draft (1979) that we be allowed to remove him from our 40 man roster without looking like we're circumventing the system because of the known AI glitch from the season start-up?

The AI glitch was with the inaugural draft in 1978. As far as I know, all players drafted since then were added manually so it doesn't seem to apply in this case.

Following up, I don't think there was anyone added to the 40 man after the initial draft. I think it sucks you have guys on your 40 man who shouldn't be, but there are a lot worse issues like huge contracts given to shitty players from a previous GM/Owner which in real life every GM/Owner has to deal with.

Trust me, I don't think this is a big issue. It sucks, but it isn't organizational damaging like some of my predecessor's trades were.

It'd be nice to have a guy who has no business on a 40 man roster off of there, but I'll live with it either way.

FYI....before I took over he had the following players on the 40-man roster who had no business being on there:

          Dylan Howard
          Grant Calver
          Ton Schellevis
          Valerio Mauperrin
          Hamilton Flowers

....and I think Salvadore Estarellas. That is six out of forty slots taken up by A and AA Ball players he drafted.

Couple that with a few of his trades and I can't see how this organization didn't fold.

Surprisingly enough, wasn't Los Almos like .500 when you took over?

It was pretty close to the same winning percentage it is now.

              Except:

-He was in the hole money wise and now I'm at a surplus.

-The attendance has doubled in my first full year.

-His minors were a shambles and now my A Ball team is in the Championship.

In other words.....the team was going downhill quickly and I've been able to field a young team that should be competitive in the next couple years.

I really think you have done a great job with that franchise. No doubt.

But I am almost certain that he had a winning record when you took over. Was it going to last? Probably not. But still.

My question is how does that have anything to do with players being on the 40 man? I'm not trying to start a flame war, I'm just saying that it has nothing to do with the problem we're discussing.

What is a non-issue (now that you've successfully derailed this thread)?

The moves made by the manager before you.
