Manager Brody Tucker took over the Playboys in 1986 and guided the team to it's first, last, and only championship. After 9 more years the organization said goodbye to him today. It was time for a change even though most baseball people feel he can still manage but at 67 this may be his last stop.

AAA manager Clint Cameron at 52 gets his first shot at a BLB job starting with at 2 week tryout in 1995. Rumor is that an extension ins in the works.

2/3 from Syracuse, 2/3 from Maine....and we remain 2 games behind Los Lunas. It seems that's where we're destined to finish this season because regardless of what happens to either team, that is where we seem to be at the end of each and every sim. I'm just used to seeing "2.0" next to my team's name at this point.

I was going to whine about not being able to build on a 2-game lead despite another 4 - 2 sim! Crackpot blew another game. I hope the 2-month setback to Don Davis isn't OOTP's way of hinting that he's about to become a has-been. I'm doing everything I can think of to hang on to this lead without a better-than-average pitcher in our rotation.

If it wasn't for 2 good months (several months ago) we'd be a .500 team. Our starting pitching staff has been abysmal as of late.

With a magic number of 3 though this will be our 4th straight winning season, 2nd straight Porter crown, and 3rd playoff appearance in 4 years. Not bad for a broke, little ol' expansion team in our 12th season.

The kids look terrible. I don't think they had a hit between them this week. Tough Pitt pitching or just plain bad. It will be interesting to see how much they developed ratings wise. More than likely none of them are ready for the BLB

On a slightly positive note... Cisco Herrera was avarded the AAA Outstanding pitcher award. In the email notification there was mention that he earned the nickname "the Kid" but I don't see a name change on his player card. Is it even possible for a player to earn a nickname?

No. Nicknames are assigned when the player is generated.

I wouldn't be opposed to manually adding nicknames from time to time, but the player would have to earn them.

Well cue the collapse....

We still have a ways to go before we are going to make the playoffs including a dreaded series with Carolina in early October. It seems like some of our young guys have hit a wall which doesn't bode well for a playoff run if we even can get to that.
