I think his resume is better. Sure Scott has some cumulative stats that are higher... but... I think Chavez' resume already trumps Scott's.

I don't see how anyone would argue any differently. Scott should have been one of the greats, but too many injuries in his younger years have brought him down a notch or two.

Exactly. Scott was the guy I wanted Chavez to be. Now Chavez is the guy that Scott should have been.

Scott should have been a Colonial. He'd be one of the greatest players of all time. LH batter in that ballpark, Mid IF with power and one of the best eyes in the league. If he'd spent his prime years in that lineup I can't imagine the types of numbers he'd have put up . . . .provided he stayed healthy.

Well, come on. It's totally necessary for the good of the league. After Pancho missed an entire year with an injury you were totally justified in turning them off. We can't have once in a lifetime players being ruined by injury.

But Chavez plays short and Scott plays 2B. So, uh...what?

Scott can play SS with the best of them. He has a DUI or two at the position.

Does he? Wow I totally missed that. Like I said "uneducated". Just went off the dome.

                        Wait!

That doesn't matter. I didn't put Scott over Chavez. Chavez plays short. If there's beef on an all-time spot then that beef should be for choosing Sanchez.

Read my edit. My thoughts still stand.

I'm waiting for someone to provide evidence that all-time, Chavez is better than Sanchez.

                                Jose Sanchez?

Well his VORP is already higher. His peak is much, much, much, much higher. Like, by a lot. The margin isn't close.
