Just because you weren't given the gift of an inaugural draft super team, a $100 mil budget, and the ability to be an original owner that can fleece the rest of the new owners as they come along in those leagues...don't knock what you can't build!

      Boom.
For a guy so close to the "SGN Triple Crown," one would think you'd know your history better.

1.) Washington was not dealt an inaugural super team. Go back and look. This team was drafted in '78 to "win now" with half the team being 35+, versus teams like Wilmington and Maine, drafting 22-year-old studs. Plus, I wasn't an original owner, Squint was. They never made the post-season under Squint. When I took over, the former owner had been inactive since the last week of the regular season and I didn't get to take the reigns until opening day. As in, the 1978-1979 off-season D.C. was inactive, didn't sign anyone and lost a handful of their own players to Free-Agency.

2.) FOF is a joke. The game is flawed. There are programs you can download that analyze the draft to find gems. There are strategy cheats. Etc. And don't act like the Portland Phantoms weren't one of the best teams in the OSFL. I went to two League Championships over the span of three years, losing both times to the league ulti-cheat, Ben E Lou. One of which playoff run, my star QB was out for all four games with "severe depression" that he somehow got "hurt" with in week 17....It's such a popular league/game that no one has wrote an article for it in over two years, IRL.

3.) Seriously, no cares about the NCFA.

      4.) BLB = SGN

          Couple things I'm seeing here:

          1. Looks like we're close to a vote to introduce the DH to the IL. Just sayin'...

          2. With the popularity of the BLB on this site, I think another OOTP league would play, maybe with less owners, depending on interest. It's too easy to get caught up in how you run a team. Having another league where your alter-ego could run a muck would be ..... interesting.

OK, I'll take Virginia. I want to win, and I think they give me the best opportunity to do so.

Second choice would be Batavia. Third, Carolina.

            1. I don't see it. I like the leagues being different.

            2. I see any additional OOTP league as a threat to the BLB.

Whatever. You guys should be seeing me as a threat to 23 other owners.

                1. Oh, I don't either.

                2. I can see your point. Always figured that was why we didn't have another in the first place. Maybe if it was something different, real players or whatever, it wouldn't be such a threat? Although I'm not sure I'd be interested in a real player league. Maybe something set in the past, but whatever.

We had that other OOTP league. I forget what it was called, and I'm pretty sure it's gone now.

I don't see a vote on the IL getting the DH. It's better with the two different league setups IMO.

I don't think we have the space for another OOTP league on SGN unless one of the football leagues folded. But, sadly, I also agree with Pat. I'd rather see 24 owners hungry for more OOTP than a second league.

Anyone who tries to introduce the DH to the IL should be banned from the league.

I'm writing up a petition now. It should be in the book's appendix.

Similar but side topic... I'd be willing to have a discussion that comes up often. Basically, should current Owners be given the options to take over teams that become available. I think its not something that would be exercised often, but with the scouting playing field being seemingly leveled (at least somewhat), I'm not sure its as big a deal as it use to be.

I would think we'd come up with some rule like, for example, Hyundai comes open and Prezlandis wants them... Maybe we'd fire all BLB personell (clean house) to make him start fresh.

I don't know. Just know it comes up a lot...yet, when pressed, I don't think anyone would actually give up their team.

I'd hate to give up my team. However, I would be willing to give up my "market" for a smaller budget. Seriously.

What is the actual concern with scouting in this situation?

We never see actual ratings so even if my scout thought your 6th OF was a stud in waiting (rrrr), he wouldn't necessarily be right.

Couldn't that owner just bring their personnel with them? I'd even be in favor of banning the owner from making any moves with his old team for a season or two.

Also I think a league vote on all moves should be mandatory along with a properly written statement from the owner explaining why he would like to change organizations.

Finally, a committee could probably be used in this instance to properly research an owner's activity to be sure the move wasn't facilitated with the owner that has given up the franchise. That's a very special case but never know with people.
