Not good. We picked the wrong week to lose Kirby AND Samarano. Without them our offense sputtered. Good news is that both come back in 4 days.

    Gonna take a miracle now.

The good news is that Buller's pitching great.

I hope to God Hyundai waived his entire organization because he wants to see who bites for a post-deadline waiver wire trade.

It's pretty crazy to see the likes of Dan Jones, Harry Keppel, and Barriois as well as the rest of his entire organization on waivers.

5-2 sim, gained half a game, and now sit 5.5 back despite losing 2 of 3 to Denver.

My dumbass changed my lineup and everything, took Pedro Zamarida off the DL and put him back in my lineup, then forgot to export.

Oh well...hopefully my newly recharged lineup will be enough to pull away down the stretch. You're getting a little too close for comfort.

This is the one downside to the new auto revoke system. Under the previous system Hyundai would be able to see who claimed the player and work out a trade before deciding whether or not to revoke. Now it just automatically revokes them and if he waives them again, it's irrevocable.

I would suggest that we use the same gentleman's agreement as MLB in not claiming a player unless you legitimately want to trade for them or are blocking a rival in a pennant race. But in the wise words of Silvio Dante, It'll never fuckin happen.

2-2 against Carolina, 2-1 against Virginia. Same sim, different week.

Dan Hogan homered in his debut, and the other OF I traded for at the deadline, Gary Lipincott will debut against California this week.

Also, 1978 1st draft pick, SP Tessai MacArthur may have just made his final start in AAA. I might be calling him this next sim.

We went 4-3, split 4 with Washington before taking 2 of 3 from Windy City. Still not playing that well, but the division lead stayed at 6.5 games, so can't complain too much.

Hopefully the return of Matt Rogers will help my bullpen, they've really struggled since he went down.

I lost a series to Pawtucket, and Grant Lewis gave up his first runs as a Miller. It could have been better.

first part is yes. i sort of did the waivers thing indiscriminately, and have really no intention of trading away keppel (although jones might be a possibility). the vast majority of those players will be pulled back if a claim is made.

All those new minor league uniforms look pretty good. The entire league is filling up nicely.

Sully and I rocked out a defensive battle in this SIM...

                        Looking toward the future...
                        - I got Carlton locked up long term. Got him for a little under what he was asking and felt it was on par with the Top 10 closers in the game.

                        - Moved Leslie Lacy up to AA creating a really nice outfield of Just-Brudenell-Lacy. He settled right in batting .357 in his first sim.

                        - My Left Fielders apparently decided to have a "flavor saver" growing contest as well...

                        To many rings to count...

New image pack is really filling out the league nicely. There's some really sharp new unis in the minors. It might be just me, but it really helps me with the immersion factor.

My game of the week nominations:

                            DL:

                            Tuesday, August 4, 1981 - Pawtucket @ Hyundai

Pawtucket thumps the Hyundai bullpen for 7 huge 8th inning runs only to see Hyundai come back and tie it in the Bottom of the 9th with a Harry Keppel Grand Slam. The Patriots battle, but their bullpen gives out when they issue a conga-line of walks in the 12th inning loading the bases and then walking the winning run home.

                            IL:

                            Wednesday, August 5, 1981 - Los Alamos @ Davenport

This one was maybe more of a great performance than a great game as Davenport hurler Dan Haughey allowed only 2 hits in his 8 innings of work while striking out 10 Bandits. Max Oliver came in and sealed the deal with a perfect 9th inning.

Nice games. I wish there was an easier way to notice great games in OOTP.
