5 - 2 with a nice 3 - 1 series against the Dukes. Good to know I can do it while Cavadas has his head up his ass.

SP Alex Gomez is further proof that I should keep players in the last year of their contract.

Davis and Harrison should be a nice 1, 2 punch in my rotation for a few years. I'd like a third. If Tulun had a third pitch he'd be the guy. I'm hoping Chouinard outperforms his ratings.

OF Devin Dare could be the best bench warmer I've ever had (not counting the bench warmers I've had to start).

          Jake is a comic genius.

          End transmission...

              I know, right?!

But, hey, at least someone in Denver will be winning Refreshing New Brew.

Carolina Tobs: 5-2 this week (22-29 overall)

                  The Good

                  -Al Hamilton
was named IL Player of the Week for the first time in his career. He hit .500 this sim (15/30), with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 10 R, 5 BB and 0 K. He's 3rd in the BLB in VORP, OPS, OBP, 2nd in wOBA.

-Jose Guzman had his best week as a Tob, hitting .433 with 3 HRs.

-Alex Rivas and Val Aparicio both pitched well. Rivas was awful in April but put together a solid May. Aparicio is still inconsistent and I'd love to see him cut down the walks, but hopefully he'll get there. As a team, we actually pitched pretty solidly. Miracles happen everyday.

                  The Bad

-We're still struggling in several spots in the lineup. Eron Deleon hasn't figured it out yet. His ratings suggest he should be able to hit in the BLB, so I think it's just a matter of time. Ismael Reyes has also really struggled since I pointed out how good he was playing a couple sims ago.

                  What's Next

We play 7 games next week, all against division rivals. It's early in the season, but this is a big week for us. Already 6 games back, but if we put together a good week we could find ourselves in contention. A bad week and the season looks grim.

                    Al Hamilton is something special.

I want to interview Matt and ask him if his market didn't allow him to retain a stud prospect on a minor league contract.

                    ;)

I don't know, Batavia is looking rather good right now.

That was a really big trade. It was fun to make, though it meant a longer rebuilding project here and I'm still trying to figure out the pitching staff. I'm happy to have Hamilton though.

It's almost a shame that everyone is still playing for 2nd.

I'm not so sure about that. With Coronel and Hellspawn, Batavia is very good this year.
