Interesting thing going on down on the farm in Virginia....

DOUG GILL, who came over in the Rod Phillips trade is having a meteoric rise like I don't remember seeing. 8 weeks ago... he was the #46 BA Prospect going into his AAA season in Detroit.... as of this SIM he is #17 sporting a 1.070 OPS. His stats are screaming "I'm ready to dance" but his ratings just don't bear it out. I don't really need another bat right now and he's certainly all but a done deal for September and next season. But I'm almost afraid to waste his talent and tick him off.

rub Martinez did something similar last year in AAA - I think he went from mid 40's to high teens from the start of last year to mid season. I took it as a good sign...

EDIT: According to his player card, rub was the #52 prospect on opening day last year. #12 this year.

4-2 to keep pace. Looks like Sau and Hernandez are turning into the OF corners I'd hoped for. Lindsey suffers a setback, but Hayes gets another win with an 8 IP 4 H shutout. Guzman threw an 8 inning shutout also. Works for me.

Are you sure its not just attrition of the list by age? Trujillo is having a monster year in AA and he moved up to #13 or something like that this last sim too. He started the year in the high 30's or so.

Yet another whacky road trip complete. Pawtucket 3-3 on this trip.

30 road games so far (We must have some sort of porn convention in May past few seasons) Anyway, this year we didn't fall apart like in 94. 16-14 overall on the road.

Lets see how we do with some more home games coming up. Also, time to see what Ocampo can do

BTW- Freddie Thompson early Allstar vote!!

It's certainly a factor, but almost 30 places in more than guys pealing off the list.

The other argument against the "attricion" argument though is the fact that my 2nd (formerly top) ORG prospect is having a great season and has actually dipped from 21 to 22.

Well that is pretty f'n awesome. That means Trujillo's jump is real too.

Most of the in-season changes are based on performance. The one at the start of the season wipes all of that away.

Of course, age and level play a part in that.

Yeah, it's dynamic. There's actually a league setting that allows the list to update dynamically during the season. We could have it off and only get the yearly update. Performance certainly is a factor, but I'm firmly in the camp that performance is secondary for these lists.

Ya we're decent...but think how much better we'd be with Sasaki and Kirby...shoot we'd be Virginia like.

And my crappy scout that set my rebuilding back years and years was fired a long time ago. The new guy is responsible for Hamilton and we'd like to hang on to him for a while.

With that being said I'll take this series anytime...especially when my Brazilian man thong team of Jarava and Coronel are in beast mode. Also we gave waiver pickup Robby Johnston a start again his old Carolina team in game 3...8 IP, 3 ER, 4 K's and the win. He's not a starter for us but we figured it would be nice of us...especially since Carolina took two waiver duds off our hands.

I wouldn't read too much into anything put up against my pitching. A drunken softball team could light up the scoreboard against us.

Frayo, Rivas, and Howe are all good...Aparicio is a step away from being very good. I count 5 guys on your team with 6 contact. On paper your team looks great...not sure why it isn't transitioning. I can only assume with time you will level out.
