At least Ismael Reyes is still pretty good.

Beyond that, I knew this was going to be a rough week. Virginia absolutely destroys us, and then Philly is also much better than we are.

If it weren't for the draft, I'd be more disappointed with this season. That's our Super Bowl going on right now.

4-2, tied for first and treading water. Just pacing ourselves.

Starting pitching, still bad. Bullpen still good. Lots of depressed batting averages right now but getting solid offense production up and down the lineup. Refund seems poised for a bounce back season.

24-year-old 1992 first rounder Glen "Coffin" Harrington has been huge for us so far this season.

Hard to complain about a 4-2 SIM... but my bullpen is a MESS. Way too many runs from the 7th inning on.

We're shaking it up... kind of because the players asked for it....

Jayson McQueen is going back to the starting rotation... and Freddie Boehmer has asked to become the Closer.

At this point, we'll try anything!!!

                3-3

Whoops I mean 2-1 vs. Wilmington and 1-2 vs. Morgantown.

Lost Donnie Greene for a month. Looks like Lonnie Fowler will get a brief call-up to the bigs. Lets see if he's ready.

Carolina Tobs- 2-4 this week (15-23 overall)

1-2 vs Virginia, 1-2 @ Philadelphia. I thought we might have found something last week, but these are tough matchups and nothing seemed to carry over from last sim.

                  The Good

-Ismael Reyes has been red-hot in May. He got off to an awful start in the first couple weeks, but he's found his swing now. A line of .500/.593/.864 this week and he's hitting .424 with a 1.236 OPS for the month. He's 4th in the IL in VORP, 2nd in OPS.

-Al Hamilton is off to a nice start. He wasn't very good this week, but so far this season he's 5th in the IL in VORP.

-Adrian Romero hit .360 this week with a 1.109 OPS. With Romero 8th in the IL in VORP, we have 3 hitters doing well.

                  The Bad

                  -
The rest of my lineup hasn't been quite as good as I'd like. We're still doing ok scoring runs, but it just hasn't clicked like I had hoped.

-Alex Rivas had a couple more bad starts. Raul Frayo wasn't any better. I was counting on those guys to really help and they are borderline unplayable right now, though it's not like I have any other options.

                  The Ugly

-I've said it before, but my pitching is a complete, unmitigated disaster. I feel lucky at this point if we don't get completely shelled. It's nearly an everyday occurrence for us to bring in someone from the pen and watch them give up 5 runs. I'd be willing to pay a pretty high price to fix this.

                  Up Next

We hit the road for 3 games against Batavia followed by 3 at Morgantown. Hoping for a .500 week.

The good in Denver: We lead the DL in scoring.

The bad in Denver: We're 10th in the DL in runs allowed.

I still enjoy this league too much to see it get shut down if I trade Hamilton to you.

If we did a Hamilton deal that involved someone like Jerry Morgan. Even Skerik couldn't bitch. I mean, he WOULD bitch, but he'd be wrong as usual.

Oh I'm done bitching about trades. No good ever comes of it. People are going to do what they're going to do.

I mean, you can't just force people to have things like a conscience or shame.
