Talent Change Randomness - It's a setting!

Andrew, what do we have talent change randomness set at? This is a setting found in Game Setup/Player and picture options. I honestly did not know that this setting existed. But, if you didn't set it, it's probably at 100 right now, which is obviously to high.

I think we should find a way to test this and think about lowering it since it seems there are some very dramatic up swings and down swings, and probably to many of them.

I don't want to know. Just adjust it to "50" in the offseason and we'll chalk it up to abnormally bad and good seasons.

I think HEAVY testing should go into this. And, I'm not sure if Andrew even knows about the setting.

Well, i'm glad you knew about it Andrew. I have no idea how I didn't know about it. I guess this thread wasn't necessary :)

It's an interesting question. My impression of OOTP 2006 was that there were not enough ratings changes and that player performances in the game were more consistent than IRL. But I didn't do any kind of study on the issue.

I am not even convinced that there has been a big change between the 2006 and 2007 versions of the game. I haven't seen it in my players. I know a few guys in the league have been disappointments this year but that has always been the case both in the game and IRL.

For the record, I'm cool with it being set to 100. The more random, the better. Nothing is a guarantee in sports.
