When I made the trade, ironically, I was trading up for someone else. But a last minute second guess made me go with Skinner, who I really like. I'll be back around at 1.14, so hopefully I'll have a couple guys left.
Might have overpaid, but got a top flight starter IMO. Thanks liquid.

Nah. Skinner is good. I just prefer strikeout pitching a bit more. You can't argue with Skinner's production, especially his WHIP. Good control and movement, but questionable stamina. Seems like he has the potential to be a Tim Nathan caliber of pitcher(well without the stamina), and that really isn't a bad thing.
I think Skinner is a fine pick. I'm not a huge fan of his "stuff" rating or his pitches. But he's performed very well in all 4 years in the feeder league, he's somewhat advanced and has a durable tag. This is the range where I thought he'd go.
Dallas took Hector Duarte. He's high on my scout's list (#3), but I don't like him nearly that much. Great power and solid speed, but I worry about the rest.
My scout thought Duarte was one of 4 players in the draft with a 7 power ceiling. That's gotta count for something. He also thinks his eye has plateaued, which probably means he's also going to strike out a lot. But a RF who can throw and hit home runs will always have a place to play.

Same here. He was in my scout's top 5.
