  • Wow, this draft is still happening.

Pawtucket going to convert Zarco from SS to SP. Figured the kid is 17, has a fastball of 90-92, Stamina of 6 and potential 3 good pitches.

Worst case, he sucks and tries the other 5 positions he knows.

    • I had Zarco as the 18th best pitcher in the draft. Good move.

      • There were two 18 year olds named Dave Miller in the draft. I drafted the wrong one.

        • This draft has slowed to a halt. The middle of the 7th round is taking longer than the first.

Nobody is putting themselves on auto pick.

            • Yeah, we've had a lot of people use the full time today. I would bet that most of their lists have run out and they haven't checked in. We'll still get done in plenty of time.

In other news, Tyler Quinn (my first round pick) was named Batter of the Year in High School. The first of many outstanding hitter awards in his future.

                • My 5th round pick Helio Dominget was ranked as the 4th best pitcher in the entire draft by my scout. Hoping he saw a diamond in the rough but assuming he just had overrated a guy with one year of stats that include a 5.23 ERA. Still, ranked that high and with little talent left in the 5th I took a chance.

                      Bats: Brendan Tennant

I really like Tennant's improvement in his senior season at OK State. Shows a bit of promise that he may have finally put his talent to good use.

Sohn, another international, I'm a sucker for scarily, good HS numbers even if they did play overseas. I think HS success is HS success pretty much anywhere in the world. Good job, Clown.

Oh, and I'll be sure to write down your hot tip on reading HS stats. It's obviously been the hidden secret to you losing in the first round every year."
