And I took yet another international player just moments ago. If someone's gonna prove that IT guys can play, it's gonna be me.

    ĦOle!
My scout had Roes high on his list. I was thinking about picking him with one of my second rounders, despite several things I don't like about him.

I expect Roes to join my organization Top 20. Assuming Haley stays on, that would give me 6 catching prospects in my organizational top 20.

It's not as impressive as having the top system in the league, but at Denver we just want to be noticed for something.

      • Baltimore selects:

        Oscar Lerma from Aruba.

I expect Oscar to be a guy who will hit for a good average (+.310) at the least, but I'm hoping he can grow into some power.

We are 3 for 3 in international picks so far. So this draft should be a good case study for the success of international, post 1st round picks.

If Clay is the BLB God, I plan to become the Anti-Clay.

        • I'm 5/5 on taking feeder league players. I actually haven't taken a single international player since our 1991 draft, except for one 9th round auto pick who is no longer on my team.

As for Lerma, he's not what I'm looking for in a first baseman.

          • Just had to roll back the draft a couple picks because some lazy ass owners couldn't do what I asked and fix their trade announcements.

We're back to Round 3 - Pick 10 (4.10 in utility) - Washington is on the clock

I too was struggling to find something positive about Lerma, until I noticed he has an 8 in sacrifice bunting.

Also, Dusty Bandy was the last guy I had on the list I made towards the beginning of the draft. So congratulations, Hartford!

                      • Like the Pat Wilson pick by Wilmington, I was hoping he'd fall one more round to me but didn't think I'd have that type of luck.

Looks like Wilson has absolute raw power and my scout thinks his eye and contact are better than the OSA ratings.

I say, I got myself another catcher.

Don't you got too many already?

And here I thought I had sent Pepe somewhere he could be happy.

Is it my turn to pick yet?

                            • Mississippi is up. I took SS Steven Bennett. Looks like solid defensive middle infielder with my typical slap hitter mentality. Should backup Dusty Simmons in a few years.

                              • I've gone against my normal strategy and taken a player from some strange foreign land (presumably filled with dragons) in SP Desmond Wolochow. I like some things here, specifically his velocity and pitch selection. His stats are good, but I have no idea how to gauge the fictional stats.

It's pretty much just me taking a flyer on a guy I see some things in. My board wasn't stacked with players I really like.
