FYI - If ranking were to hold... Philly and Pittsburgh would be the Wildcard Teams.

Always fascinating to see these rankings. Thanks Clay.

Good to see the Olivo acquisition pushed Denver up to next to last while causing Virginia to fall all the way to 4th.

I like where we're ranked. It says the experts think we're decent, but still underdogs in our own division. I can buy that.

Also good to see Funclown as the preseason favorite. Pawtucket, where next year's champions play!

Its just going to make our first round choke look even worse.

Still, our first Shavermetric #1 ranking. The team looks ready to play.

Not sure Maine will be this poor. Still has some good pitching on that team.

I don't think we'll be that bad, but we'll see. Our pitching is quite good. Our lineup lacks star power, but everyone is at least average or better at their positions. Also a strong defensive team. We'll see.

Now, that being said, we don't ever proclaim to be anything other than a snapshot of time (opening day) and full recognize that changes (trades, injuries, etc) will obviously impact things. This is purely talent evaluation in a vacuum.

As we all know... superior Managerial Skill (aka Commish Access) wins out in the end.

With 10 or so rookies on the team, I expect no less, but I don't think we finish with 100 losses again. Either way, I'll take the amazing first round pick and trade it again. Get back at me in three months, folks.

I thought we might come in a little higher than 14th, but I don't have a huge issue with that ranking. A lot is going to depend on how a couple young guys progress.

There's certainly a couple teams I disagree with where they are on this ranking.

Full disclosure... 5th through about 18th are pretty tight in the numbers. They could go anywhere. Fractions of points.

                              Correct.

That spot is permanently reserved for me.

Though, there is absolutely no way that Davenport is the 3rd best team in the league.
