  • 1995 HOF Voting

It's Spring Training and that can only mean one thing: roster crippling injuries suffered during meaningless games! Ok maybe two things then, injuries and Hall of Fame Voting.

Take your time, review the candidates and submit your ballots here. We need every owner to vote, even if you wish to submit a blank ballot.

Players must be named on 80% of the ballots in order to be inducted (20 of 24 if all teams submit). A player must receive 50% support in order to remain on next year's ballot if he fails to receive enough support for induction. (This year's holdovers are OF Subaru Hiraki, R PGrant Lewis and RP Jon Cleary - for the 3rd time). We have several new generation owners amongst us now so the discussions of where these players fit into the first generation of players may be useful.

Take a moment to review this year's potential class members and feel free to publicly discuss the merits of any player (discussion threads for each player can be found in the Awards/Hall of Fame subforum here. We've set a high bar for induction so no candidate's chances can be taken for granted.

The voting utility will remain open throughout ST and we'll close the polls once Opening Day is here next Wednesday giving everyone almost an entire week to vote.

    On this year's ballot:

    OF Amistad Caballero
    OF Franciois Dupuis
    OF Subaru Hiraki
    OF Tim O'Fay
    C Jeremy Windley

    RP Jon Cleary
    RP Grant Lewis
    Anselmo Napalo
    SP Joe Ponte
    P Martin Carlton

    Good luck gentlemen!

    Only 9 votes in.

There is not a penalty for not voting (YET) but it is an expectation of the league that you vote in ALL votes.

Up to 18 ballots in now. Quite a few candidates receiving strong consideration this year. If you haven't had a chance to vote yet, please swing by and submit your ballot. Thanks!

One thing is for certain with 20 votes in, but we need the other 4 members to cast their vote so a certain man can safely be recognized with an opportunity to be on the ballot next year.

Does the utility allow you to cast a blank vote?

In other words, are the percentages I'm looking at reflective of any blank votes?

Yes, I believe it does and I believe the %'s reflect that.

Disappointed to see that Windley won't stay on the ballot. He played at a high level in a position of production in this league. Also his stats are comparable to the only current HOFer at the same position. He got my vote anyway.

He was good, but I wouldn't go so far to say that his numbers are comparable to Stiver.

They are comparable because Windley had, what, six more years on Stiver?

I like Windley too but Stiver was elected because he was a beast during what should have been the twilight of a late starting career.

                              Voted.

Since we have HOF snobs who won't vote for anyone I vote for almost everyone.
