Just looking at the results, I think we have all 24 votes. At least the math adds up that way.

If so, no one got in this year. 3 guys stayed on the ballot for next season, but I doubt any of them ever get in. Just looking at the rules, I think Cleary falls off, since this was his 3rd chance.

And here we thought the flood gates were open when A closer and Stiver got in.

I'm glad Cabezas snuck through when he did.

          Yes, all 24 are in.

The HOF Committee is considering bringing Carlton back next season since he wasn't given the full time for consideration. Don't think he makes it regardless, but the Committee is considering it.

FYI - I'm not on the Committee

If Pat is on the committee, kick him off.

And that's a wrap. Well done everyone. 24 votes in, everyone accounted for. No one gets in this year, but we'll have a few holdovers for future consideration next season.

OF Subaru Hiraki - 14 votes
RP Jon Cleary - 16 votes
RP Grant Lewis - 15 votes
SP Joe Ponte - 14 votes

Martin Carlton didn't garner enough voter interest to reach the needed 12 votes to stay on the ballot therefore absent an overwhelming groundswell of support he will not appear on any future ballots.

                Thanks again everyone for participating.

I was a Cleary and Hiraki guy (again). Lewis isn't quote there IMO and the case for Ponte isn't quite compelling enough for me.

I want to make a case for Carlton because his Closer glory years were in Virginia... but, despite his Pale Ale years as a Starter, I never felt he was the best in the BLB at any point.

To me, Carlton's years as a closer weren't good enough for the Hall of Fame and I don't think his time as a starter, as great as it was, is enough. I could see some people thinking differently.

                      Jon Cleary

                      - 424 saves
                      - 2.44 ERA

Cleary gets hurt by two things:

                        - His glory days Owner (AnStu) being out of the league and not here to pimp him
                        - The Morgantown stink

Cleary was THE dominant Closer of his era. We've seen great Closers in the past few years (Diaz, Bayer, Olivo)... but none were as dominant and synonymous with a great team like Cleary.

That's a good start to an argument, and I'm being serious.

If Stiver got in because of age, Cleary should clearly have the same support.

I might jump on the bandwagon next season. I'll see how I feel.
