That's not bad at all. What scared you off?

Didn't get a soul in FA. Might take a second look this week but it's hard to justify a lot of these prices.

I won the minor league FA lottery this off season. Didn't offer a single big league contract, and I feel great about it. GREAT I SAY!!

Some of the "so-so" pitchers still asking the world right now. Might see some pitchers sitting to start the year off.

Got three guys this sim. Jared Austin becomes the new starting C while Dusty Simms takes his lumps and continues to develpo as the backup. Marlon Declare is the 4th OFer I was looking for because he can play all three positions very well and can steal bases. He is also only 26 years old. Also signed Auther Perira. Going with BP by committee. Wait thats basically what a BP is, pitching by committee. I mean that we will be going into ST with at least 10-12 relievers jockeying for about 6-7 spots in the worst BP in the BLB. How enticing that must be for this stable of below average relievers.

While I was upset by not landing Dodson or Hernandez, I'm happy to pick up two Catchers in Anibal Calderon and Don Thompson.

Calderon, should provide a steady force behind the plate for the next couple years while Top 100 prospect William Zimmerman develops in the minors.

Thompson is exactly what you want in a backup catcher. Team leader, doesn't want to start, solid defender. Etc. Etc.

Clay, do you know what happens to rated FA's that sign after draft pick compensation is awarded? For example, Trevor Broomfield was a Type A FA last season, but didn't sign until May, after comp had already occurred. Does the comp pick roll into this season?

Don't know. Guess we'll see. However, technically, the draft doesn't happen till in-game of Mid-June, so if he signed in May you should have either gotten it or not gotten it. If you didn't get it, my guess is that you won't.

Typical, small market team gets screwed again.
