  • 1981 All-Star Teams

We still need 5 manager picks, and they need to be in by tonight. My only requirement is that 1 of the picks be a backup C. Managers are free to consult with their bench coaches.

Managers should also replace any injured players. I'll add the all-star selection to the injured player's history, but won't be wasting a roster spot on them. The game is in 8 days so anybody injured for a week or more should be replaced.

    DL Manager: Andrew, Maine
    DL Coach: Rubisco, Hyundai
    IL Manager: Jistic, Windy City
    IL Coach: Skerik, Baltimore

6 All-Stars for the Bulls this year, although Zamarida won't play due to injury. Awesome first half of the season for my boys. I hope they can hold off Los Lunas and Hyundai in the 2nd half.

Congrats to everyone else who had some all-stars!

Damn, only 2 all stars. What happened to Davis, wasn't he top 4 in reliever voting?

Since Rubisco is on vacation, I'm open to suggestions from everyone in the DL. Here is what I'm currently thinking, with my reasoning behind them. Let me know what you guys think.

1B - Eddie O'Fallon, Maine: 3rd in the DL in BA, 2nd in OBP, 5th in SLG, 2nd in OPS, 3rd in VORP. No brainer.

C - Malachi Stiever, Pawtucket: Need a backup C and Stiver leads the pack. He would probably be the starter if we voted today.

IF - Jorge Taracena, Sin City: He plays 3B, 2B and SS. 5th in the DL in OPS, 12th in VORP. Solid all around year and fills the need of a utility infielder nicely.

OF - Ken Cahill, Los Lunas: Highest remaining VORP and OPS for an OFer, bringing us up to 6 OF's total.

RP - Jon Cleary, Maine: Best reliever in the DL, but got left off the ballot because he was 1 IP short at the time.

INJ Replacement - Chaim Lambers, Hyundai: He is replacing Pedro Zamarida on the roster and will be the backup SS. 15th in OPS, 9th in VORP. Was the best SS available.

        Obvious Snubs:
        - Harry Keppel, Hyundai: Had to take O'Fallon over him and didn't really see a need for 3 1B's with no DH this year.
        - Joe Soto, Denver: Got hurt by a lack of run support. With 6 SP's on the team already, there just wasn't enough room.
        - Frank Kelly, Maine: Ranks high on a lot of stats for relievers but didn't need any more pitchers and Cleary got the call ahead of him.
        - Junior Shanan, Hartford: Leads the DL in HR but has a low BA and OBP.
        - Igor Goderie, Los Lunas: Same situation as Soto. Having a great year, but no room to fit him in.

Shit he was. I must've skipped over him. He'll get the nod over Merlin Thompson.

Actually, Merlin Thompson has more votes than Goderie so Goderie gets bumped. Sorry Igor!

Damn, only 2 players. Velunza better be the backup C. And not one SP from Baltimore's staff? For shame...

I just noticed that there isn't one starter from the Stout division. Wow...

Our division has 6 of the 23 players currently on the roster. We suck...I guess.

Want me to post everyone's ballot's so you can call people out. :D

I definitely would've voted differently if it had taken place today.

You're skewing the facts just a bit. You listed all pitchers from your squad and my two player are at C and 2B and were justifiably elected.
