I'm going to keep an eye on Hirotaka Sakamoto (CHI) to see how he does now. I didn't put him on the 40 man although I probably should have.

Needed a RH 1B desperately and figured he was worth a flyer. Saved some free agent dollars too. Thanks Prez!

A few IL Legends and, in my opinion, future Hall of Famers hang it up with the January 1st retirements of Caesaro Campoveroe, Dunmore Theodore and Vincent Nino. Some all-timers starting to hang it up.

I was kinda hoping a damn doorbell would ring.

I felt pretty secure there would not be a sudden retirement. However, I had come to the grips with the idea that he may have a bad Jan 1st rescout and even drop out of the Top Players. Instead... good rescout... still #1.

That being said... he's available to a team that is willing to pay to have Doorbell's golden years.

We can offer contracts to player on both free-agent list and upcoming free-agent list correct?

                        Correct.

You can offer Free Agents from the pool AND you can offer guys on your own team in their final year. Keep in mind, you don't want to offer guy FA money if you still have team control on him. There are a few cases where you'd buy up the last year or so of arbitration to extend a guy... but when learning the game... don't waste team control years.

It's not perfect, but if you use THIS (http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ry_report.html) report as a reference.... you'll see that Wilmington currently only has one guy that will potentially become a FA next year (Doug Jones).

McEvoy and Theodore retire the same year. Only fitting these two leave the game together. Ultimate locks for HOF. Thanks old friends!
