  • SIM COMPLETE - 94-95 - Off-Season 2

NEXT SIM: MONDAY @ Noon (No Files Imported)

    ***

    Arbitration is over...

Free Agents have filed... (Names to be had)

    RULE V is here

    NOTES FOR NEXT SIM:

    - No Files will be imported. This is the RULE V SIM. You'll get a new file before Free Agency.

    - RULE V draft lists come to me via PM.

    - PLEASE... name the PM "(Your Team City) - RULE V LIST". I don't open these lists until the moment I'm entering them into the game.... so if there's anything you need me to read, put it in a separate PM. The List should be just a list.
    The Great One!

Some pretty lofty demands on some of these FAs.

No kidding. Former Freedom catcher Victor Alvarez can go pound sand at that price. I thought he was crazy when he asked us for a 6 year $12mil/yr extension. $19mil/yr in FA? Good luck with all that.

Excited to see former BLB'er Catcher Tim Crump sign as our new AA Manager.

He's pretty much maxed out at every rating, so I'm looking forward to him taking over the BLB spot when my manager retires.

I feel like the Rule V has another "gotcha!", which sucks.

Also, I don't think Hyundai's MR Penn should be eligible. He's on the active roster.

            JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER

People who have BLB contracts, but are on the DL, may appear on the RULE V LIST. There players are NOT eligible. EXAMPLE: RJ CURTIS - NEW ORLEANS

I believe that only applies to players on the 60 day DL, as they are off the 40 man, and then show up in the talent pool.

                Correct.

Bottomline... if they have a BLB and don't appear on the 40-man, they should show as having been WAIVED in their history.

Well shit. I offered Ken Cahill arbitration, thinking he'd bolt due to his extension demands after we declined his $5mm option. Bastard accepted arbitration to the tune of $10mm. FUCK.

Technically, it's $10.1mil but whats $100k among friends? Those old guys will do that.

"One more guaranteed contract? Heck yeah! Where do I sign up?"

I went back and forth on whether to offer him arb. or not. I think the last thought that went through my head was, "there's no way he accepts." Whoops.

Maybe it was an anomaly. Only one way to find out. Let this year breathe and then try offering him Arb again next offseason. If he accepts and gets awarded $10mil again, I'd stop offering Arb to 40 year olds. Let me know how that works out, ok?

I'll probably just offer him an extension to avoid any more of this nonsense.
