Yeah, so I've got this rookie A-ball pitcher, Vic Mullaly, that's 3-0 with a sub-1.00 ERA and a sub-1.00 WHIP. He also has 27 K's in 30 IP....

    His potential dropped. WTF?

My 1st rounder, Joe Tojeira, is hitting .310, but what's even more impressive is his .446 OBP, and he's only K'd 6 times in 23 games. He'll be moving up to AA shortly.

If anyone gets a chance, check out Dacio Zaoula. This guy has torn up the minors for me the past 2 seasons. I called him up for the past two sims and he's batting about .340, with 2 homeruns.

It's a shame everyone's pretty much voted on the All Stars already. My Catcher, Leonardo Velunza, is batting .320 with 11 homeruns. I think he received one vote.

5-2. Took 3 of 4 from Denver, and cut the lead to 7 games. Ken Cahill had a 5 hit game in which he hit for the cycle, and he won the player of the week. After starting 1-8, Gugierrez has a 4 game winning streak, dropping his ERA by almost a full run in that time.

        Well.

        2-5, losing three 1-run games.

On the bright side, I called up SS Jack Dynes. He is a guru with the glove, and has a solid bat. In his first week, he started five games and hit .316 with a .381 OBP. Very nice.

Ok so I once had arguably the most dominant closer in baseball....and now he can't finish a game. Lost 2 out of my 3 total this sim cuz Simmons can't seal the deal. His ratings haven't changed, but he's not the same player so far this year. He could be the difference between playoffs or not come October. :?

What dropped? His overall potential rating or his individual potential ratings?

I no longer pay attention to overall potential. In fact, I suggested that we move to the 5-star system.

6-1 this sim. Where the hell did that come from? Swept a four game set against California and then took two of three from Davenport. I'm 6-3 against the "Big Three" in my division over the last two weeks.

Tardif pitched well again and now O'Connors has stepped it up throwing a complete game 2-hit shutout.

Great, Joe Gomez has a pinched nerve in his neck and is out for a year. How many outfielders can I lose?

Out for "the year" or out for "a year"? It blows either way, but an entire year is unacceptable. How many pinched nerve injuries do we see IRL?

Oh yeah....you have the worst luck ever Z.

                    A year. He's out for 11 months.

In other news, I called up Bluto Aurillo to AAA after he posted a 32-3 K/BB ratio at AA. I was going to take it slow, but we might be seeing him with the big club sooner rather than later.

Hey... I actually took a series from Washington (2-1) this sim. Shocking to actually be competitive against the 3rd best team in the division. Still got beat around by Wilmington though.

Mark MacAdie continues a great years at 36 years old. The wall is coming, but he certainly could help a contender and take a run at that ring. (Hint - Hint)

Lost my #5 Starter for 7 weeks, so Rich Mathes gets to come up and play for a bit. Bill Lewry, who hasn't lost all season (7-0 in AAA and 2-0 in the BLB) might have been the more logical choice, but I'm giving Mathes a go.

Overall, I'm still really happy with my teams play this year. I can't be shocked by my pitching taking a bad turn since I moved the fences to a normal distance this season. Guys started hitting, pitching went south. Damn logic!

I do like my parks dimensions though. All 8 of my everyday position players have double digit doubles on the season. There are a ton of nice gaps here.

HIT ME UP, CONTENDERS! I have some legit BLB talent that can be moved for prospects. Could help you make that final push before it's too late.
                      The Great One!

                      To many rings to count...

Seriously...that is lame. I think we should mod a couple of those year long injuries to something a little more believable (torn ACL, blown elbow ligament, etc.)

                        Pinched freakin' nerve!?! WTF?

6-0 week for Maine, riding a 9 game winning streak and have opened up a 7 game lead over Pittsburgh. I got real good pitching this week, not allowing more than 2 runs in any of the games.

I've had a pinched nerve before. I missed a whole season of football because of it.

But, I think I also tore some muscles as well. I forget now.
