    Pimp on!
    The Great One!

    To many rings to count...

  • #2
IL Last Call Award Nominee - CL Jerry Chase - WASHINGTON
    #1 - ERA
    #1 - WHIP
    #2 - Saves
    #2 - VORP
    #1 - H/9 (tie)
    #1 - HR/9
    #1 - Opponents AVG
    #2 - FIP
    #6 - K/BB

    Final Numbers: 6-4, 42 SV, 1.37 ERA, .93 WHIP, 302 ERA+
Prediction: Hard to argue that anyone in the IL had a better year out of the pen.

IL Pale Ale Pitcher Nominees - SP Derrek Tucker and SP Len Jenkins - WASHINGTON
If you like strikeouts and innings, Tucker could finish #2 or #3. If you like ERA and a lot of luck, Jenkins could be #2 or #3.

    Final Numbers: Tucker = 12-8, 3.13 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 207 IP, 205 K / Jenkins = 11-8, 2.64 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 181 IP
Prediction: They battle eachother for 3rd place votes and neither finishes in the top five of voting.

IL Stout Slugger Award Nominee - 1B Mike Murdock - WASHINGTON
    #4 - SLG
    #4 - OPS
    #2 - RBI
    #7 - H
    #5 - HR (tie)
    #7 - TB

    Final Numbers: .309/.376/.524/.900, 180 H, 28 HR, 125 RBI
Prediction: Personally, I think Murdock is third in voting. The #1 and #2 play in Virginia, and then Murdock is left to compete with the rest.

    J. Allen Manager of the Year Nominee - Patrick McLaughlin
-Last year finished 87-76, losing a one-game playoff to Windy City.
-This year finished 86-76, winning the WC.
-Traded Dale O'Hegarty and his $16,000,000 contract for a pitcher no one had ever heard of, Len Jenkins, who ended up an All-Star this season.
-Signed Larry LaRochelle late in FA, who emerged as the #3 SP until injury.
-Plenty of rookies getting significant time this year. Bowers, Nolan, Knowlton, Morgan...
-Traded for SP Julian Murillo who really turned his season around in the IL.

Prediction: There are better candidates this year. Don't waste any votes on me, Funclown.

      IL New Brew:

      Marv Barnes (OF)
      .287/.354/.484, 19 HR, 82 RBI, 148 H, 7 T

Had he not broken his foot this year, he probably would have done better but we'll settle for a 2nd or 3rd place vote for him. :)

      IL Stout Slugger:

      Don Castor (1B)
      .286/.367/.521
      38 HR, 123 RBI, 176 H, 34 K

-Castor led the IL in HR this year. He also played in 159 games for the 2nd straight season. With some of the numbers put up in VA, he won't get his Stout Slugger this year, but he should be in the consideration for 2nd or 3rd place votes as well.

IL Refreshing New Brew Award Nominee

        IL Ranks

        #2 - Hits
        #4 - AVG
        #6 - TB
        #6 - RBI
        #9 - Runs

        Final Numbers: .326/.374/.477/.851, 209 H, 25 HR, 101 RBI, 100 Runs

One of only three IL players to end up with 100 RBI's and 100 runs. Farmer is a pure hitter with above average power.

Definitely deserves votes, and in my opinion first place votes, for IL Refreshing New Brew.

Johnathon Morris - .294/.373/.441 led the Hyundais in catagories to numererous to list. Won Rookie of the Month not once but twice! By the number of votes so far he's already the favorite to win the New Brew award but I figured I'd pimp him a little anyway.

I will be absolutely shocked if he wins the IL New Brew award. Stunned even. I'd wager money on it, but I don't want to influence the eventual outcome.

Morris isn't dominant enough to win DL and IL? ok ok.... my bad. Reading is a skill i've apparently forgotten to use.

He'd probably come in about 5th or so on this side of the aisle I'd guess.

Bump for more Wes Farmer pimping.

Won IL Rookie of the month twice, as well as IL hitter of the month, once.
