As expected, we go 5-2 in the final week of the season to make it look like we gave a fuck.

Stat of the year for the Bulldogs:

Kubota after the All-Star Break until his injury:

      (166 AB)-.319/.455/.524 w/ 42 BB, 37 RBI, 34 R, 6 HR, 17 K

      His replacements after the injury:
      (112 AB)-.232/.305/.330 w/ 12 BB, 11 RBI, 13 R, 1 HR, 27 K

The bad thing is, this doesn't even touch the crap-tastic year that Wallace had.

Congrats to Batavia on a well earned Porter crown. I'd argue that Matt should grab the J. Allen this year.

      Kick some Colonial ass, sir.

1st Porter crown...2nd playoff appearance. We'll take it! I'm not sure I ever thought I'd see the day. When I took over this team we were horrible and were basically the castoff expansion team and it took a long time (too long?) to get here!

Unfortunately we lost MR Yann for the playoffs last sim which is horrible. He was 'on fire' and that's a big blow. Also I can't believe we have to play Virginia (again) in the playoffs. This game hates me.

To be fair, its not the game that hates you.

              Pancho didn't break a record.

Breaking a record requires that you set a mark that can be broken. I don't know if what Herrera did was even human.

He'll do it again next year, and then again the year after that, then the year after that....

As for my team, we went 4-3, finished the season at 77 wins, a 15 game improvement from 93. Baby steps.

Pancho benefited greatly from a pretty weak Stout Division this season. In fact, the IL, IMO, was a little down this year as far as great hitters go. The big bats seems to all be in the DL right now (with a few exceptions).

We tried as hard as we could take an extra couple weeks off this season since my guys have grown accustomed to the extra relaxation and traveling time over the last 8 seasons. Once the guys realized we were heading for the division crown and their extra time off was dangerously close to being taken away we tripped, stumbled and fell over backwards accidently landing in the playoffs.

Playing a tough Mississippi team that swept me just a week ago (so we might be starting the time off only couple days late afterall). Since the rotaion will shrink Collins is heading back to the bullpen which I'm excited about. The pen has been so bad I feel a lot more confident in them with Collins back there. Former #1 overall pick and a guy with very high leader ability, Pete Fitz, will be getting the game 1 start. He has pitched better over the second half of the season and hoping he continues that into the playoffs. No injuries so not much change to the lineup. We have lived off hitting this year so hoping the bats heat up cause it's been pretty sad the last month of the season. Maybe with all the vetrerans we went on cruise control hopin, ala the Boston Celtics, that we can just "switch it on and off". Whatever the case may be are we excited to be here but hopefully are not content. I'll end this rambling with a good luck Mississippi and we'll see you in Jackson .

Looking forward to this series with Pittsburgh. Carrillo and Fitzgerald are a nasty tandem to face. My offense is going to need to bring its A game this series. My starters are the weak point of this team but I need them to just get my pen a lead and they'll do the rest.

                        Let's do this
