  • SIM COMPLETE - 1994 - SIM 24

Next SIM: Friday @ 1:00p (ish) - Files Due @ Noon

    ***

I've got a meeting on Friday morning with a company that wants to offer me work. The SIM will still happen during the day, but it probably won't be until 1p at the earliest.

Oh, believe me, it's about a 1% chance they can offer me something worth taking.... but.... they're pursuing me hard so I at least have to go in for a listen.

It's like the ugly girl at the bar who watches you hit on every other chick in the bar all night and is still willing to go home with you at the end of the night when a better option doesn't come up. You kind of owe it to her for the commitment. Right, Diesel?

        Pawtucket 6-0.

The annual second half surge continues (Be it a little late this season)

SP Freddie Thompson after seasons of dissappointment is FINALLY living up to his first round hype. Thank god we saved his career.

Was a big sim, but still work to do.

Oh and .... bye, bye Syracuse!

The Hyundai's BLB season was over long ago. It's hard to judge the success of a first year GM, especially when your team has already been picked to finish last place in the league. Therefore I would like to turn all eyes to the newly crowned Bush League Champs - the Rockville Redhawks. This team was down and out with no real direction. We spent a lot of time going through draft scenarios and a complete organizational breakdown of needs vs. wants. The draft went pretty well. I was able to fill the holes in Rockville's lineup and rotation with the the dreams of Hyundai's future. Hats off to players like Marlon Huffman (trade with Playboys), Victor Alvarez(2nd rd), Dusty Simmons (1st rd), Ron Adams (sup rd) and Victor Claudio (sup rd) for coming up big time!

4-2 and we lose 2 games in the DL WC standings. Thanks, Hyundai and Syracuse.

Worst of all, Freddie Thompson posts an ERA over 8 last season for us and is now leading the Pawtucket charge to the wildcard. Screw that guy.

And he's underpaid like every starting pitcher on my team

Now for the offense to finally pull they're weight. Fuckers.

We sign a new bench coach and we go 5-1, post a 1.83 ERA for the week, 0 runs allowed by the bullpen and have a new player debut in the top 100.

GM move of the year. J Allard is in the bag!

4-2 SIM and we pick up a game in the WC chase. No head-to-head matchups left with WAS, so we'll have to rely on others to do our dirty work. We hit .186 and scored a scant 16 runs, with 5 of those 16 runs coming in a game in which we were vanquished.

How does an anemic, inept offensive performance become a 4-2 week? Have to give credit to my staff for that. 1.33 ERA as a team for the week. So, three cheers for my staff.

Yes, you read that correctly, I'm soliciting cheers for my staff. Giggity.

Rookie wunderkind Migdonio Manhos fell 2 outs shy of the first No Hitter in Freedom history in his outing against the Bandits this SIM. That is strong to quite strong.
