  • 1981 All-Star Game Voting

    http://ootp.oldredboat.com/cgi-bin/allstar.cgi

    Voting Results:
    http://ootp.oldredboat.com/cgi-bin/asCount.cgi

    - Voting will run from today until 9pm ET next Wednesday, June 20th.
    - You have to vote for 1 player at each infield position, 3 OF's, 5 SP's and 5 MR's.
    - The Stats will not be updated after each sim so for those who are waiting to vote please check the in game stats as well.
    - The error on the last page is expected and the votes are still submitted successfully.
    - There is no password protection, so please make sure you login as your team. If somebody else has already voted using your team, let me know and I can clear it out.
    - chippered can vote as "Domestic League" and Spectre can vote as "Import League"
    - This voting will select the starters (at the least) for the 1981 BLB all-star game. I may use the voting to select some of the reserves as well, but it depends on how the voting goes.
    - Ties will be resolved by the appropriate league's manager (Andrew for the DL and Jistic for the IL)

    Bonus Changes
    - All-star starters will now be awarded $75,000. $50,000 will still be awarded for reserves.
    - $100,000 will be awarded to each team from the winning league.
    - As always, bonuses will be paid at the end of the season.

Wow, the IL is stacked in the OF, and at SP. I think I only voted for 2 of my players, and they were both pitchers.

We (the IL) better win the championship this year.

              Votes in!

Some pretty tough calls... a couple no-brainers.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for MacAdie to steal a IL 2B spot and/or Sargentini to sneak in as a reserve.

For the purposes of realism we have to turn it into a popularity contest.

After thinking about it more, chances are I'll be letting the CPU pick the reserves. Where we can only pick 1 player per position, there may be very few votes for backups, especially if the starter is clear cut.

I think the Manager of the team should pick them. There should be some benefit to it.

                            I'm thinking something like:

                            - 9 starters
                            - Next 4 SP's
                            - Top 4 Relievers
                            - Next 2 OF's
                            - Next 2 non-OF position players
                            - Top 2 pitchers not already selected.
                            - 5 Manager picks.

This guarantees 11 pitchers and 12 position players, but gives the manager some flexibility to fill out their team.

Not to pick nits, but Albors should really be listed under SS. He was only playing 1B with Kellum out and he's a natural SS.
