Again, completely recognize that I'm biased, but I think he is THE hidden gem in the BLB. If this year is his "down year", I'll take it if I'm an owner.
As much "value" there is by having a guy locked up long-term in his "prime" there is also a huge amount of risk. We all have horror stories but OOTP can be cruel on some players. And it often happens before the player enters his "prime years." Just ask Nate Magness...or Michio Nago...or Miguel Angel Padilla...etc.

What are you basing his "best years ahead" argument on? Sounds like the same thing you were preaching to us in 1992 with McQueen.

Don't know what you're blue over. We just had a parade.

Our top pick Gerard made his AAA debut and he was shinning. We then pushed him back to AA so he can pitch in the playoffs for a winning minor league team. By the time they are done down there, he should be able to finish off AAA and maybe even make his BLB debut.

Really proud of this guy and he's yet to reach his potential according to his ratings.

Also, Chad Sinclair came back from a minor injury to dispel fear into pitcher's hearts with three homeruns over the week. He's now slugging .701 in 107 AAA at-bats.

All three minor league affiliates are in the playoffs for Denver. Perhaps a sign that the next decade will be kinder.

          Just sayin'.
Of course Morgan would help me. Whether I'd be willing to pay the price for him is a completely different story. Outside of Rivas, my SP has been a mess. I'm hopeful that Aparicio can become a top notch starter, Iturriaga can hold down a spot and Howe can settle back in. When I look at their ratings, I'm not really sure why it's been quite as bad as it's been.

Of course, Rivas is only 25, Aparicio is 21, Iturriaga is 24 and Howe is the old man of the bunch at 27. Let's see if a couple of those guys can put it together. Still going to need to find pitching help, but I see some potential. According to the Positional Strength report, my BLB club is 15th in SP, while my organization is 1st. Means nothing until they show it though.

You've got some good pieces down there. I liked Gerard in the draft, not sure he's ready to help in the BLB this season though.

My AA team is back to defend their title, though with a very different roster, while my AAA team looks like they'll be in the playoffs as well (I think). On the single A level, it has been a struggle this season, though arguably the two best prospects I have are down there.

Oh, yeah, I'm not expecting that Gerard will do much. I'm thinking he gets a mop-up role for the last two weeks or something just for the experience. Not sure he'd actually start in the BLB in 1995. Probably will want to get him more AAA work unless he somehow pitches lights out in Spring Training.

Ah, you're Charleston. I wish there was an easier way to connect Affiliates to their parent club.

This past week, Jose Guzman joined elite company with his 2500th hit. Name the six others that have accomplished this feat.

Also, Noah George as of 8/21, can be added to this exclusive list.

In the spirit of the upcoming Single A and Double A playoffs, lets do a little minor league trivia.

What budding BLB star owns the Bush League (Single A) single season record for BA, OBP, SLG, VORP, Runs, Hits, TB, and RBI for 3B.

As for this new question, the only name that comes to mind is Joe Lopez, who killed A level pitching a couple seasons ago at 27 or however old he was.

I must be getting old. I thought I put him down first.

Edit: For 3B basemen. I keep making mistakes. I'll get the specificity right eventually.

Oh, if that's the case, my guess is Dodson. Though, I know that's likely wrong.

Not sure I'd say he's a star, but is it Matsumoto, on my team? I know he was awesome in A one year.
