Carolina Tobs- 3-3 this week (54-69 overall)

On the road at Dallas and at Syracuse, we won 2 against the Snappers and lost 2 against the Slammers.

The Good

-We can still hit just fine. 37 runs in 6 games isn't what we did last sim, but it should be plenty of run support. .284/.366/.461 as a team.

-Ismael Reyes hit 3 more HRs and is now tied for the BLB lead at 34. He's also up 100 RBI on the year. So far in August (18 games) he's hit 9 HRs and has 26 RBI. Seems I talk about him almost every sim, but he's been the standout player on my team this season.

-Adrian Romero hit .462 this sim. He's had a disappointing season, but hopefully this is a sign he's coming around and will finish strong.

-Adrian Ituriaga had a solid start in his first BLB action of 1994. I picked him in the Rule V last season and he probably wasn't ready to pitch in the BLB yet. My scout says the year in AAA has done him well. Against Dallas he pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits. Hopefully he will be someone that can solidify a spot in the rotation.

The Bad

-We still can't pitch. At least not with any regularity. In the 3 games we lost, we gave up 24 runs. In the 3 we won, we gave up 5 runs. Doug Howe got rocked again, not sure why he can't seem to put it together. The bullpen cost us a couple games as well.

-We committed 2 errors in 3 of our games this sim. This pitching staff needs all the help it can get, so 5 unearned runs is too many.

What's Next:

-Like lambs to the slaughter, we head to Virginia for a 3 game series to end our road trip. Hopefully we won't have our confidence crushed too badly when we come home for 3 games against Morgantown. Prediction: 1-5.

Well we sucked this week but that's secondary. The two legends come off the DL hand in hand finally and the run to glory begins.
