Thanks for the complement. Now, if you could just give me some light and stop running away with the division.

Greene is a really good pitcher and the IL suits him. He actually pitches surprisingly well at home, despite being a right-handed pitcher (which was my only concern).

I'm very glad I was able to trade for him AT A REASONABLE PRICE. The fact that he's the only reliable starter that I have, we probably won't make the playoffs, but here's to hoping.

      5-2 (60-45 overall)
      (2-1 vs. Balt)
      (3-1 vs. Cali)

After playing 23 games in 24 days we finally get a day off and we're going to enjoy it. We already have a BBQ and team pool party being thrown for us by Hooters.

      Pitching

I suppose it's like defense and wins championships. This last month all our starting pitchers started 5 games. They had ERA's of 1.73 (Castre), 2.35 (Gonzalez), 2.48 (Sasaki), 4.29 (Tanner), and 4.34 (Walters). Combined with a solid bullpen effort we had a team ERA of 3.29.

      Going Deep

We really wanted to add the long ball to our offense this off-season so we went out and acquired Kirby, Wouters, and Campbell. Together they have 48 HR's and we are 2nd in the IL in home runs.

      Youth Movement

Yes Batavia now has a player on the Top 100 list...Hector Coronel. He is a mirror image of Muckdog star Helespontico Jarava, who is also from Brazil. It is no secret that the GM spends his entire off-season there every year scouting "local talent" and during the process he usually watches a baseball game or two as well.

Sorry. It only counts if you drafted late in the Post-Feeder Era.

Did you know that Donnie Greene is Mexican?

I bet 23 of 24 owners didn't know that without checking his profile.

So...Maine just cut all their 1994 draft selections...?

                  http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...tions_0_0.html

He clearly wasn't following Clay's step-by-step how to win plan.

Greene in the IL. I had no doubt he'd be good there and even if he was simply above-average, he makes $3 MM a year!
Haha...I'm guessing that would have been me. That was a pretty good back and forth and I think we were both right.

Yes, he was. According to the Clay Commandments, there is no talent after the 3rd round. So he just cut them.

                          Pawtucket 5-2.

Seems we play better at home. Thank god we only have 20 more road games left the rest of the season!

As for this week, was excited to see how Cannell would play with our unit. Sadly, he was not inserted in the starting lineup and instead we got a steady dose of Chet Reed. No real damage since one of our loses was by a whopping 9-0. Pitching continues to be our strong suit and we finally get Norm back for bullpen support.

Final note: Tommy Lang can kiss my balls!!!!

I hereby submit Dave Farmer as the worst pick of the first two rounds. He's really lighting up A-ball so far.

I figure you can pretty much count on players coming out of our HS feeder league to suck for their first season or 2 in A ball. Doesn't mean much.
